They believe it because the want to believe it. You've heard of the history written by the victors, this is the history written by the cowards. These are the same guys who were claiming that hundreds of people were murdered by the coupists during the coup and their statements are still being used by the Turks in order to prevent a proper investigation into the fate of the missing.

BTW, Hantzos book is fine but I think that you also should have a look at Georgios Sergis' book "i Machi tis Kyprou, Ioulios - Augoustos 1974, I anatomia tis tragodias" and Skiadopoulos' "Polemos stin Kypro (Ioulios - Augoustos 1974)". The books give an almost complete account of the fighting that took place and a description of the actions of each unit.

Here is the quote you asked . You attacked everybody that confronted Nikiforos for his views and you even went a step further calling the left cowards and claiming that there were no dead in the coup. Well while your people were killing democratic left people all over Cyprus, Turkey was invating.

PS: As for trifillara.com my friend, not my cup of tea.

If I have to delete/edit any more posts on this thread it will be locked; if people want to trade insults, they should go elsewhere.

Well, times have changes my friend and if such nationalistic and fascist elements ever dare to move even their little fingers be sure the "community reconciliation and unity" will not be on the cards this time.

Now back to the original questions that you avoided answering for the 3rd time:

Do you support the coup?
What was the result of the Eoka b and Junta activities in Cyprus?
What was the result of the coup?

Lana, you are a joke. You are not trying to moderate the list. You are just censoring views you don't like, like me reply to this post. Grow up! Apparently all you want is a forum just for you and your buddies.

Ok, you found something I have written which you think might be worth a reply. Now all you have to do is find someone to read it to you slowly and translate whatever is not part of your 150 word vocabulary.

Just so that this forum can keep some kind of coherency, despite the censorship, the reply was the following:

..... The junta was the outcome of a conspiracy of a small group of morons in the Greek army whose political outlook was just a step higher than yours, the coup was a crime not only as a general act against the democratic institutions in Cyprus but also in all the individual criminal acts carried out against invividuals by the pro-coupist gunmen and it resulted in the greatest catastrophe to meet Cyprus in modern times.

You ...... cannot even paraphrase the instructions for boiling an egg, let alone summarise other people's views. If you think you can take issue on something I actually said then quote it, .....! If you can't have a proper discussion then you'd better move back ...... in trifillara.com where you belong.

It's ok. To be fair, the dots represent the bits from the original message that could rightly have be censored.

Hi Polis

That's the point, I don't have the time or inclination to edit manifold obscenities and insults in any post; if there is one or two, then may be they are edited out and the post emains, when there are more, the whole post goes. Can people not debate logically without resorting to schoolboy language/actions?

Polis, I do not 'favour my friends', I have no friends - because everyone hates here me :-) Serioulsy, I am always amused at allegations of my favouritism, such that I have to check out the ethnic orientation of the postee's opinions, to see who they think I favour!

My role here is of an interested neutral, which is why, although I have my own views on the issues, I rarely post here. If you can find bias, please feel free to pm me with details.
