Hello All,

Im new to this Forum and I am moving to Northern Cyprus in the end of the month to work, I am looking for an apartment or house with a cheap rent. Does anyone know where is the best place to look?

Got a job in a dive centre teaching, just moved from the Canary Islands so I need some peace and quiet. Not to fussed with the old nightlife had enough after 9 years in a pumping resort. Im looking forward to it. Is it far to travel for a night out in the south part or is it difficult to cross the border back and foward how you want? I guess there is a border control!

There is no border. The whole island belongs to the Republic of Cyprus. However the northern part of Cyprus is illegally occupied by Turkey since their 1974 invasion. They declared a separate country there, which is illegal and not recognized by any other country in the world except Turkey.

So you would not be crossing a "border" but the cease fire line.

Thanks for the info, I have never been to Cyprus, only heard from friends thats been there, how long drive is it from Kyrenia to Agia Napa?

I think you would be more suited to go and live in either Larnaca or one the small villages. There are also small villages around Ayia Napa that sound more up your street
