Two Murders Too Far Away...

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Two Murders Too Far Away...

Postby BirKibrisli » Thu Apr 12, 2007 3:24 pm

11 April 1965 was a black day for anybody who believed in the brotherhood of the Turkish and Greek Cypriots, and the solidarity of the working classes. Two Akel and union members Dervish Ali Kavazoglu and Kostas Mishaulis were ambushed and killed in their car together, suspectedly by TMT gunmen...The bullets which killed these True revolutionary Cypriots mortally wounded the brotherhood of all Cypriots.
Kavazoglu was one of the two TCs ever given a funeral in the Republic of Cyprus wrapped in the Turkish flag (the other one was Dr Ihsan Ali,another True Cypriot from Paphos)...

Lest we forget...

We do not forget because we have streets called Mishauli and Kavazoglu :) But why they were wrapped with the Turkish and not the Cypriot flag?

You cannot imagine how beautiful Cyprus is during spring time Birkibrisli. I practically spend 2 hours everyday just sitting in my garden watching the flowers these days. Lovely smells around, I watch each and every flower blooming, today I think i counted 19 new white lilys and 5 pots each with about 25 gardenia flowers.

Best time for someone to die, and fill his grave with flowers.

May God rest the soul of those 2 brothers.

That was the sign of the times,I suppose,Sotos. If I am not mistaken Mishaulis was wrapped up with the Greek flag and not the Cypriot flag as well...If the mindset existed at the time to allow them to be buried as Cypriots, they would probably be still alive today.

Good point,though.

Amen,Pyro...
You are right,I cannot imagine how beautiful Cyprus is in springtime.
I have not been to Cyprus for over 38 years, though I have been to the TRNC several times during that period...

I look forward to visiting you in your garden, and sharing your pleasure of the Cyprus spring, hopefully in not so distant future... :)

Imbrahim Aziz is a wanted man for "treason" Cypez. He is not even allowed to cross to the occupied, not even to see his relatives.

NB. I don't know what crime Denktash has accused him for... any ideas anyone?

Akel is a known party that plays on multiple boards....

The truth is you cannot trust any political party in Cyprus, they all serve quite different interests than those they are voted for.

Dear Turkish Cypriot compatriots,

The 20th Congress of AKEL, which was held in Nicosia from the 24th - 27th of November, addresses you a warm militant greeting.

Tut tut tut what a translation, the poor TCs might think AKEL is going to bomb them. Shouldn't the translation of "systratefsi" be "fellow-fighter" greeting?
