I said it before and I am repeating it again. It is a MYTH that Taksim was a reaction to Enosis. The Gcs fought the British to throw them away and establish Enosis. The Taksim DID NOT start because of Enosis (since Enosis started from the 1800's) it started because the British would leave. The Tcs enjoyed priviledged treatement both during the Ottoman era, as well as under the British. They would never want to be ruled by others and lose those priviledges.
Thats why the British fabricated the 1960 constitution giving the tCS so many priviledges.
Taksim was a REACTION to the fact that the British would leave.It carried on even after 1960 as soon as the TCs realised the GCs would not honour those priviledges. Even if Enosis was not there, Taksim would still be.
