TMT rich men.The first blessing!!

[11] Rauf Denktas calls on those who have become rich because of TMT to contribute to the preparation of a documentary film
Turkish Cypriot daily AFRIKA newspaper (11.04.07) reports that a documentary film will be prepared regarding the persons who had brought weapons in Cyprus from Turkey by boats in the period when the TMT organization began its action in the 1950s.

The film under the title The First Blessing will be prepared by journalist Arslan Menguc, who held yesterday a joint press conference with the former Turkish Cypriot leader, Rauf Denktas. Mr Denktas called on the members of the TMT who have become rich to contribute to this effort. I am sure that our people who have become rich thanks to the resistance of the TMT will do what is necessary for the preparation of this documentary, he noted.

On the other hand Zan insists the TMT guns were home made and not as good as the Eoka machine guns

Anyway I am not sure as to what Denktash says here. Is he saying those (brave TMTs) who were carrying the guns on boats became rich so they should contribute in making the film?

OK FC we gree. But what is Denktash saying here??

Is he saying those SHIP OWNERS who were carrying the guns from Turkey (NOT FREE OF CHARGE OF COURSE) were automatically branded TMT ......... fighters     ............ became rich from this "fighting activity" and therefore should contribute to the making of the film????

I am rather confused as to what he says. Or is he saying they got rich after the got "points" for their braveness and hence got a huge part in the sharing of our stolen properties???

Or is he just calling for the contribution of the TMTs who became rich while presumably they were starving in the enclaves together with the common TC people.

Or is he calling for the TMTs who, well became rich..... ....by accident?

Pyro...I took your enquiry seriously and had a look at Afrika's internet edition for that news. The full article is not online, but from what I can gather from the summary news is that the documentary will be about the arms smugglers during mid 50s to get the TMT off the ground.
Denktash's appeal is to those TCs who became rich as a result of TMT's struggle...Meaning,I think, every TC who is rich, because the implication is that had TMT not struggled at the time there would be nobody left in Cyprus of TC background.....

Denktas is famous for these sweeping statements which are aimed at provoking an emotional reaction which bypasses the logical mind... :)

Famous indeed dear Birkibrisli. Sometimes I wonder if he is a real Cypriot, I mean a real Cypriot would never possess such a "brain".

And from my contacts with TCs I would definetely say the TCs are more sentimental than the GCs is seems Denktash discovered the right button to push every time he wants to manipulate.

That's what he said and the TCs got scared and never elected him again.
