i was making a point about darwin becuase i am prowed to be attending the same school he did and you where trying to take away his thunder almost so i defended him and ended with a joke that must have offended you, sorry. then you say about 2nd and 3rd rate cypriots and i misunderstood that as an insult, sorry. but i didnt understand what you were on about towards the end of that post. i may go to a good school and have long summer holidays in cyprus but my dad owns a chippy and works a 90 hour week so i can go to the school and get my new ps3. as for our son george micheal, i went to one of his concerts and he came and stood right infront of us on stage we were about 10 meters away and my dad lets out a yasoo reh gogios and he looks directly at as and walks away not coming back that close to us. lol so he knows where it is he just doesnt care. My dad wasted 2 years of his life in that stupid national gaurd and i currently have 3 close cousins in it. I want a peaceful cyprus not for my holidays because larnaka beach isnt really affects but for my fellow cypriots who have been displaced from their homes and those who live in a state that cannot trade with any country and so are living poor lives. I guess im just a dumb kid who would like to help. I had a little arguement with a simon just for trying to explan free cyprus' crazy veiws and he talks down to me as if i am a 3 year old and then i reply in a bad way and he swared at me as if i would get offended by that. in a teenagers life swearing is just another bunch of word to me, he called me a prick o dear me. didnt offend me as much as that tone he previously used. BUT what you said up there hurt, kibab scewer in the chest hurt, cant even sugarcoat it.

and actually its AS levels and thanks for the luck i'll need it for maths i'll tell ya that! Calculus is a struggle matey

lupusdiavoli wrote:"The problem is, he thinks being in the minority it automatically means that your ideas are wrong." It has a long long history.

Having a minority opinion doesn't make your ideas automatically wrong, but it doesn't make them automatically right either. But it does make you extremists. Here is the definition of extremist, fits you perfectly:

# (used of opinions and actions) far beyond the norm; "extremist political views"; "radical opinions on education"; "an ultra conservative"
# a person who holds extreme views

So you are extremists, who support/accept things like human rights violations against us. Unfortunately for you we have democracy and unless you are planning another coup you have no other way to put into action your ideas.

Kifeas does tend to ride the moral high grounds lately and perhaps this is an indication that he has given up hope. It is like a terminally ill person who has nothing to lean on and rests his hopes on god, who might not exist, for help.

We are all going to die on day. Until then some of us will live a life of dignity, fighting for what is right and just. Imagine if all people had the loser mentality of bananiot. We would all be slaves today as nobody would dare to fight against the odds. Apparently Bananiot is a masochist and being a slave is his dream. He even admitted that he would prefer Cyprus to still be a British colony.

lupusdiavoli, you still didn't directly answer the only question I made you. You just said:

What will you gain? Well, the decision making process has to take into account the surrounding elements such as time, geopolitical position, balance of power, the defeat of 1974 and reach a conclusion whether being the weak side it is of his interest to make compromises. The benefit will be some sort of a “solution” while there is still time. The opposite proposal would be to wait for the never to come day when human rights will be enforced automatically.

So tell me about which "solution" you are talking about and what we will gain from it. The last "solution" that was proposed to us would give us back a mere 7% of the land, and in return we would be downgraded from a state to a community, we would have to share 50-50 the power with an 18% minority, we would have to pay taxes to support the TCs and the Settlers, our properties would lose from their value etc etc. So, even if we forget "moral" things like signing away our human rights, it still was a net loss for us, where did you see the benefit?

There is no benefit from capitulation. In fact we have a lot more to gain if we continue fighting for our rights, not only because it allows us to hope for a better future, but also because it is better for us now as well.
Also, although our straggle is currently not enough to gain for us our rights, it is enough to cause problems to our enemies.

When they propose a plan where at least the land distribution is about 18%-82% then I could reconsider. However since the Turks are unwilling to discuss anything even remotely fair, I see no reason we should even think about "solution" plans that will make it even worst for us than it is already.

Wow there's been a lot of action on here today! Bananiot, yes you are absolutely right, I got a bit carried away with my point there and overlooked the basics of the theory which is based on survival not improvement. However while your argument is fundamentally true I don't think it discounts what I said altogether, rather it just puts it into perspective as a theory or possibility.

ge0rg10, the exact length of time that Homo Sapiens Sapiens have been on the planet is not known with any precision but we have been here for at least 30000 years which was well before the last ice age. At the most I think its 120000. This is a very complex issue which I don't want to get into here but if you're interested you should do some research when you get some free time. Good luck with your AS Levels mate, I aced A Level maths and my degree was packed full of Calculus so PM me if you are struggling with anything and I'll help if I can.

Piratis, lets suppose that I am a defeatist in the way you perceive the term. You elevate yourself to a fighter (!). Will you please describe for us the last battle you fought?

The battles we fight are political in the UN and EU. You really don't need to be a super hero to support our country in the political battles it gives every day.
Unfortunately you can't even do that, and on the contrary you and your similars (e.g. Loukas Charalambous) give ammunition to our enemies to fight us in those battles.

It's funny you say that Bananiot. I thought the same is happening with you albeit at a more mature age.

The battles we fight are political....what crap.

Hey tell me, has Cyprus won any of those battles. Dont quote useless UN resolutions to me either.

What political battle has Cyprus won, that actually means anything?

I still see 40,000 turk troops, in north cyprus, the turks havent returned one inch of land, the turkish population in cyprus has exploded, the tc's are getting richer, not one gc has returned to their land in north cyprus, turkey still gets to negotiate for entry into the eu (so they froze 8 chapters, big deal!)

buddy Cyprus is a small country. it should make the best of the situation and stop playing political games, and actually get on with improving the lives of greek cypriots in so many other ways. Wasting time and energy on political fights is a useless strategy doomed to fail...as it has been for the past 50 years!
