As I couldn't find anyone in the Larnaca area able to do this, I have bought the equipment to do it myself. I can now offer the service to others to try and recoup my costs....

What is Xtreme firmware and what does it do?

“It allows you to play backup copies of games you already own on your Xbox 360.”

Is this illegal?

“No, It is not illegal to modify the firmware in an Xbox, nor is it illegal to make ONE copy of any game that you legitimately own - for backup purposes.”

Why can’t I just do this myself? Do I have to solder stuff?

“You can, but make sure you do your research first and don’t bring me your Xbox when it’s been ‘bricked’ by a botched attempt. Also, bear in mind that your warranty will be void as soon as your 360 is opened up. There is no soldering required, it is all done via software”

How much does it cost?

“I will flash your Xbox 360 drive for CY £30. This is an equivalent price to getting it done in the UK.”

How long does it take?

“Around 30 mins, but I prefer to keep them overnight for convenience.”

Can all types of drive be flashed?

“There is currently only one type of drive that can’t be flashed, which is fitted to only the latest stock of 360s. The chances are, yours will be flashable.”
