No, I'm not Indian. High-lifestyle = living in a large, luxurious house, eating expensive imported foods in top-class restaurants, frequenting posh clubs etc. For your salary, you could live comfortably an ordinary middle-class life-style. Some poorly-educated Cypriots tend to be racist, but they are a minority: if you are commanding that kind of salary, they may resent you. However, I wouldn't worry about them, as they are not worth worrying about.

lots of people from India are working in AMDOCS and they survive ... somehow :)

Abstractedly, gross 850CYP per month is a very good salary for Cyprus but you have to rent a flat and depend on how much you will pay for that you will decide it's enough for you or not.

No, but I know some pretentious enough to charge top-class restaurant prices for low-class food! Anything to fool the idjuts into thinking it is haute-cuisine. When I want a GOOD meal, I cook it myself. Our Indian friend will have a hefty culture shock if he tries an Indian restaurant over here: he will taste food that he has never tasted before, with chips, of course!!!!

except from the apartment the other thing is transportation. If you live close to your work and you can just walk there then you can save a lot of money. Buying and maintaining a car and paying for gas can take a big part of your salary.

CYP 1 = ~USD 2.20 but the dollar is becoming fun money now with a Bush style economy, so be prepared for your dollars to buy less CYPs in the future.
