What 's In It For The Unethical British Fuckers? I'd Love To

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Aphrodite18 » Tue May 22, 2007 2:03 pm

Wrong!! Gentlemen I am not worthy of such actions - and nor should I be... next thing is I will be found guilty and tried in my absence for being a warmonger... last thing I would want or desire. Tell you all a secret - primarily to ease some of Humanists annoyance and assumptions that I am all for the British Government.. My parents were (yes both dead sadly - it happens.) from India and many of us have strong hisorical views re the era of the British Raj and how Pakistan came into being - I too had family who had land and property in that region etc etc - but I wouldn't waste my time telling people they should write letters etc. etc. Nothing wrong with asking - but if people really want to do it they will. As I said earlier though.. with the arrogance of current people in power these days (NOT just the British..) I doubt it would really serve much purpose... these are issues I dealt with for myself and by myself many many years ago and had many passionate discussions about with youngsters leaping up and down saying we should protest etc. It very rarely does anything to change anything as they (Government) collectively have their own agenda.. not always right or sensible in the longer term. They don't care about the long term as they will be off doing something else anyway... Some rare bodies manage to stay in touch with a sense of duty and honour but there are never enough of them in a position to do anything much at any one time. Some of the most effective organisations for change are the ngo's like Amnesty - ask yourself if the great and allegedly good are only half of what they say they are we wouldn't need and actually shouldn't need people to write letters.. what are we paying teh Government for? Politicians are not deaf dumb and blind... there are no excuses. Hence there is little point in writing to these prats.. what do they care.. zero zero zero. You me and the rest of us are fundamentally on our own in between handing over what we earned to keep feeding the frenzy of idiocy we all see all around us. I could unkindly say it isn't any different to a family really just somewhat more extended and messy!! Hallo Earth... have a good day and keep your head below the parapets while waving two fingers aloft gentlemen!! As I said in a previous post somewhere - My mother said about a personal issue "it won't do them any good" - but it doesn't do us any good either...You just have to look at the mess the British Govt made of the Iraq war and that in spite of huge concern and protest on teh streets of London. Many Brits have made this point in other posts.. We the people do not have a voice only a vote with little credible choice between times and at elections. Serving the Country?? Really?? How often do they put their hand in their own pockets to take somethingout rather than to put something or someone in it? Education?? wassat all abaht then?? Amen Pink Floyd.. whew!! :?:

Aphrodite 18 ; Who am I to talk about Greek Mythology whilst on a Cyprus Forum is a joke. But the short answer is, she (Aphrodite) was (according to Greek Mythology) the goddess of love born out of the foams of the sea in Cyprus. I am sure our Greek friends on the forum will enlighten you with more details. I could but I do not dare.

Thank you very much Denizaksulu. I too am aware of the mythology and what she allegedly represents ie love. What I actually meant was I am not sure what the name itself means? It may be the same but it may have wider or different meaning of some sort.. just curious and yes it was just a name for the forum.. anyway if one person can jump up and down in this forum then why can't another viz a viz knowledge? Seems to me the purpose of knowledge is to impart and share it with whoever wants to know.. how could children learn anything - whether the knowledge is to do with Greece or indeed any other countryor subject - knowledge is not owned by anyone in my view so (for me) feel free to say what you will - as and when you will - unless you are going to swear or cuss of course!!

Sorry Aphrodite18, Maybe some GC friends of our might know if the name itself has a meaning. Then, not all names mean anything at all. Namaste:lol:

Aphrodite18, my first language is Turkish Cypriot, so you can add Shoukran =mersi=teshekkur ederim=efhkaristo to your ever growing vocabulary.
