Sotos, hahaha, no I can't sacrifise the ADSL...
This afternoon I checked out Chloraka, Peyia village and further to Lara (!) and Polis with my rented 4x4 (the rough way through Akamas). I really liked the area around the Bird Park, and around the little harbour at the end.
Don't know about ADSL or WIFI in that area, but if possible, I would settle there.
Beaches I have seen all suck donkey balls, it's rocks, rocks and rocks. Maybe I will visit Ayia Napa next week to check out the Eastside.
Allready met a couple of people, all very helpful and mostly Cypriot or from Eastern Europe. Don't know why, but most Brits seem to be occupied with themselves, at least the ones I greeted and ignored the tall guy with the long hairs from Holland... hehe
I must admit that most Cypriots are nice people, allthough according to money they are too eager/pushy. If they sold you the service or goods, you may just go fck yslf, just the feeling I get now and then. But I forgive them because they got some kinda charm.
About the language, it's like they are argueing all the time, it's a little lame but not disturbing. I'm used to talk soft and sweet to the ladies in Holland, but here you have to talk navywise to make your point, haha.
Also quite funny is Cypriot Television. It's Easter, and I only see old evangelic movies and woman baking cookies and pastry on TV, lol ! Never heard of emanicipation here, I guess. My hotel is next to a church, and they know how to use the bells these days, lots of singing abacadabra etc. etc. haha, I know it's temporary, so, ok.
Now, if anyone likes to meet or play some tennis, let me know, I'll be around for a while...
Your friend,
Marcus from Cyprus.
