Hi Joe

this is like asking someone in England where they should buy a car and how much will it cost!

i) where will your property be?
ii) How big is our property? a/c units come in different sizes determined by the cubic capacity of the room etc.
iii) what altitude is your property? It will affect the need for a/c.

Your question is too general to be answered.

any of the big electrical places sell them but you may get a better deal in a small shop. You do'nt say where you are but if it is paphos area you could try the polis road in paphos for several big stores.

Excellent advice – also consider if you really need them.

We had nine installed in our house and rarely use any of them now that we have acclimatised to the summer heat.

better to acclimatise and buy fans we had 3 ac units 1 in each bedroom and 1 in living room and they ate the electricity if you do get them just have on for 1 hour before bed as your bill will be sky high

I'll agree with what sirox101 says and will add that they are not that healthy for you as well if they are left on all night.

Cheaper and healthier to fit fly screens and have the windows open.

Aircon units are really cheap in Cyprus compared to the UK -- not that you would ever need them in the UK

Joe, agree with a lot of the others advice.I have a 2 bed apartment in peyia high up behind the church and just got fly screens, ceiling fans in living room and desk fans in bed rooms for when it is really hot. A/C very expensive to run and iff used in winter on heat just as expensive.Have purchases ceramic heaters for winter and they are much more economical(and no noise either).
