Does Turkish Cypriots hate Greek Cypriots and the answer to that question is defiantly yes.

How can there be another answer I can give here honestly when all the post in this forum says so every argument is we Turks we Greeks and so forth and it goes on………………..not only that but whenever a post is posted here regarding either one of these Cypriot communities Greeks or Turks, when someone post a post, they bring to the table turkey and Greece in every argument

People will only have to read what is in this forum to realise what I’m saying is true, not only is it true but soo ugly that it defies imagination.

As you can see I have used the words both communities above as not to confused people because people are already confused in here about their true identity.

The other problem that arises from this forum is people speak without realising what they are saying for example

A person may say you Turks or Greeks for that matter have done this done that we have been persecuted we have been wrongly done we are the victims in all this.

The problem lies here most of the people I have spoken to in this forum proudly told me they are either Turkish or Greek Cypriots…. PEOPLE DO NOT REALISE THAT WHEN THEY SAY A TURK AND GREEK THEY ENCOMPASS TURKEY AND GREECE INTO THE ARGUMENT.

I put forth a question here as a Cypriot lets see where this thread goes and lets see what side people will take

I sincerely hope this hatred of each other is confined to the forum. Does this really happen in day to day life?

Experience of actually meeting and talking to people who have been involved with displacement as opposed to reading the extremist views on the forum is fatalistic, whatever will be will be. Please don't think I don't have respect for the loss people have suffered - I am talking about attitudes I have personally seen.

Maybe 'outsiders' coming into the country (and I know they are also despised by certain members) bring a much needed unbiased perspective.

I like both Greek and Turkish people equally. In fact there seems to be a similarity in the way they respond to other people. I have always found them warm and welcoming - in the main.

they hate each other with vengiance this is ivident right ehre in this forum..the reason they hate each other soo much is they dont even have an identity soo they call themselves greeks and turks..............be couse cyprus has never had any identity apart from being invaded and rules for thousands of years. they have an excise that becouse they speak one of the two languages used on the island they convince themselves their roots lie in turkey and greece................. and if they study greek and turkish mainland atetudes towards cypriots they view them no less then third class citizens of the world

Free_cyprus will you ever stop telling us the same things over and over again? Should I count how many threats you posted with this topic and how many posts did you wrote with the same meaning but different words…well now I am sure you do love to play with words … do you think that we are so stupid that if you tell us the same thing over and over again with different words we might tell you that you are right and that we completely agree with you? Or is not what you really after from us? I ask you again this question and I still don’t have an answer … what do you really want from us and you post this things so many times?

As for this topic…lets go again one more time with different words…NO we do not hate each other as much as you say…yes we do have our arguments and we do have different opinions but that doesn’t turn our feelings to hate or love…this forum is like having a conversation with several people … in this way you just tell your opinion on something…we don’t hate each other…is that clear?
We use “Greek” and “Turk” sometimes without thinking just to express the language division… but ok I agree that we should be more careful with those 2…
But do you know how many times I hear friends calling each other you “right ball pig”… you “ left ball donkey”…that doesn’t mean that they are pigs and donkeys or they are right or left ball…they are humans…and they don’t hate each other because they have different opinions…they just express what they believe! With a funny way but they are still friends after that conversation is over…and they keep their last conversation about women… Ok my dear???
