DOES GREEK AND TURKISH CYPRIOTS HATE EACH OTHER THAT MUCH

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

pitsilos,

I Know what it means. It' s an old story the tangible and the intangible reality. St. Augustine and the theologists guote it from ancient thought. The debate on body and soul. So? What it your point about since I recon you don' t have in mind its meaning in that sense?

FC,

I cannot judge you on the base of right or wrong. But your desire is unrealistic. Either you understand how politics and foreign policy works through history or you create an imaginary one based on your wishes. You see yourself as a Cypriot.OK. That's fine if someone accepts selfdetermination. On the same you have to accept those who define themselfs in a different way. Otherwise you want them to accept your version of history which in broad terms for a keen eye is easy to spot its origin and its theoretical background.

i dont really post on the cyprus problem, as i find it a very complicated issue, that i dont know enough about to form to many opinions. however i do feel that the problem exists due to the that there was no real victor therefore to much unfinished business exists.
take for example the british and the germans relationship during last century !!!

the germans killed not hundreds not thousends but millions of British soldiers and civilians !!

likewise the British killed millions of Germans !!!!

plus all the atrocities committed by both sides and the sheer amount of terror and death caused by consistent carpet bombing of major cities in both countries.

these days we do not consider Germany an enemy, or do we dwell on past wars, neither do we have any hatred towards Germans, apart from on the football field!!

i think this was due to the fact that there was an overall victor, allowing
us to finish any unpleasant business and build a fresh relationship with the crout's
