not sad at all. am just sickof all the whining about who is better, the greeks or the turks, and how one is more at fault than the other for all of cyprus's problems.

My point exactly! The guy writes about something in China. Piratis replies by attacking Turkey and you put up a complimentary message to Piratis.... Why let him provoke you?

o.k. whatever you say... By the way, I don`t hate the Americans. However, you are already ruling the world; no point in denying that... Not that I mind since one country will always be stronger than the rest and it is much better that it is you as opposed to the commies 8) But I hope you do a better job next time than Bush... How is that Barak guy`s campaign coming along? Personally Hillary is my favorite (beacuse of the husband) but Barak might be a nice change awell. I`m sure you`d favour Guliani though being from New York and all that...

yes, i do like guliani, but i wouldn't vote for him. i hate bush. i favor hillary. i think she would do the best job. she has 8 years white house experience and a husband to advise her.....
i don't think barak will get elected. i don't think the USA is ready for a black president. i don't think it is ready for a woman either, but since half our population is female, that's who my money is on.

I asked a genuine question: How can somebody who is Turkish be surprised by the human rights violations in other countries, when Turkey has one of the worst human rights records in the world?

Isn't it a fact what I said about Turkey? You can keep dreaming that Turkey is even near the human rights record of Greece. Although in Greece it is not perfect either (about average in EU) Turkey is way way way bellow, along with China, Pakistan and a few other authoritarian states.

At least the Chinese progress and advance in all fields, and they have a history of a great civilization. I am sure their human rights record will improve soon as well.
On the other hand Turks never had any kind of civilization, all they ever knew is to how to invade, kill and steal the lands of others. And it seems that even today instead of changing their middle age mentality they prefer to live in denial, imagining that everybody else is just as bad as they are, to make themselves feel better.

This is a thread about China, but is mostly a thread about human rights( in a Cyprus forum). So don't get upset for mentioning Turkey, as it perfectly fits in this topic.

yes, i do agree with piratis on this one. Turkey may be a good analogy to China, and he is on target to bring that up. about as much rights as i do to bring up the USA and how we should go straighten out China.
i really think the whole "cyprus solution" has to revolve around tearing down the walls of being Turkish or Greek, and realizing we are all in this together, as human beings. but i also believe that is not going to happen, not in our lifetimes, anyway. everyone thinks thier way is best. and we all know, i have it the best being an american! ;-) ;-) ;-)
