Sorry about your uncle but my parents and grandparents were almost brought to the brink of starvation under the GC siege of the enclaves (simply beacuse they refused to succumb to ENOSIS and refused to give up their legaal rights in the RoC) had it not been for the rescue of Turkey. Many TCs died and got massacred, so your pain is by no means unmatched. Yet it is the honorable Turkish Army`s Peace Operation that has brought peace and halted the bloodshed. Turkey is the anchor of peace, prosperity and stability in our region. So again, I acknowledge your loss and pain but we have a problem when you take it to a level of cussing to a country where I came from and who saved the lives of my family.
Can I ask if you were around in those days , because my recollection as a 15 year old is one of enforced enclaves administered by the fanatics who aspired for Taxim. I recall in Famagusta the T/Cs would come out of their self imposed imprisonment in order to go about their daily chores and withdraw back in the evening. Turkey invaded Cyprus not as a peacekeeping force but as a military operation that cost the lives of thousands and displaced more than 200 thousand Cypriots , lets have some sensible debate not propaganda crap.I do not know your age but I bet you got your information from second or third hand fanatics who are dedicated to partitioning our island . The Cypriots , G/Cs and T/Cs lived and interacted for hundreds of years , the rot started when the Brits begun using the T/Cs as a weapon against what the overwhelming majority wanted which was Enosis , amongst those who erroneously aspired for Union with Greece was I , as well as the vast majority of Cypriots. We were wrong , Enosis would have meant the end of Cyprus as an independent nation and those that now want partition / annexation are also wrong. The invasion by Turkey had been planned from the 50s .
