"A GOOD TURK IS A DEAD TURK"

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Maybe you would end up liking me too hey

I probably would because I think the fact that we are here (in the political discussions) proves we care about Cyprus and its future.

I'd sooner mix with someone who is passionate from the "rival" camp than with a feeble-minded "compatriot" who doesn't give a toss about his country.

That's what the green berets, equivalent to the Turkish blue berets, were wearing but not all soldiers. The writing at the top of the logo verifies this.

Cyprus doesn't hide that Turkey is her arch-enemy for reasons we all know very well and need not repeat.

No Zan, you haven't made any shocking discoveries...

No SHOCKING discoveries is the shocking part GR........................

T-shirt worn by the Greek Cypriot soldiers sporting the slogan

"A GOOD TURK IS A DEAD TURK"

Greek Cypriot newspaper Haravgi reported on March 22, that these were words uttered by a high ranking Greek Cypriot army officer stationed in a military camp near the buffer zone outside Nicosia.

Haravgi also reported that it is common practice for the Greek Cypriot soldiers in all the military camps in south Cyprus to chant slogans such as "Turks, Turks you are all going to die", "You are going to die under the blue and white flag" and "We are going to drive all the Turks into the sea".

Haravgi gave the news under the banner headlines "Chauvinist Slogans in the National Guard" when a Greek Cypriot who resides in the close proximity of the camp phoned the newspaper to complain about the nature of the slogans emanating from the camp. He told the newspaper that he was disturbed by the slogans and that he had confronted the Greek Cypriot officer on duty to ask him why they were chanting such chauvinist slogans.

He claimed that the Greek Cypriot officer answered "What is disturbing you? We are going to kill all the Turks."

Questioned by Haravgi, A. Yorka, the spokesman for the Greek Cypriot Defence Ministry, said that the soldiers were allowed to chant some slogans but these were not chauvinist slogans and claimed that he would look into the allegations.

It is no secret that the Greek Cypriot soldiers are always hyped up with such racist and aggressive slogans and made to live in a dream that one day when the opportunity arises they will invade the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

A few years ago T-shirts sporting the slogan "A good Turk is a dead Turk" worn by the Greek Cypriot soldiers were also a source of argument in the Greek Cypriot media.

They are nothing short of perverted psychopaths they are a disgrace to their country and enjoy the support of twisted minds like their own.

Why don't you come and sell them then Murataga? You could become a millionaire and prove your case with one shot.
The truth is I never seen anyone of those T-shirts in my life.

Besides the only symbol of the commandos is this:

Image

It says the one who dares, wins

Pyro mou, you are right that is the symbol of the commandos...but i have seen that symbol and the quote before several times...but i am not so sure that is been used my the commandos...but i will ask my brother if they did tomorrow and let you know, he was a commando in the army!

The truth is that they do say those kind of things in the army and especially in the commandos training...they do say others things as well against the Turks...remember we are talking about the army here!!!

It is true that we are raised by this way...to hate the Turks and to have in our minds that a Turk is equivalent with the worst person in the planet! But that happens only with few people not all of us...so stop generalise the whole issue! And as Zan said that symbol was judges even from the Greek speaking Cypriots...

By the way Get Real I was going to be very careful with Shah and arrange something else as a back up plan in case that something will goes wrong!
