HI everyone on here im new here and a big hello to everyone .

I'm looking to move to cyprus with my wife and kids and just wondered does anyone no if there is any big carpet shops in the south like allied carpets and carpet right in england . as i am a carpet fitter and floor layer please could anyone let me know thanks lee

I'm afraid that fitted carpets are just not that popular in Cyprus .

I have seen the odd small carpet shop on my travels but nothing at all like allied carpets or similar .

I've visited many homes in Cyprus and only two of them have had fitted carpets and they have regretted having them.

Whilst rugs are popular as you can roll them up and store them during the hot summer months .

I'm no expert but I would have a guess that there won't be much call for a carpet fitter in Cyprus .

Thanks bill looks like from what i have been told most of the work is in the north have been offerd work there but would love to be in the south.

To be honest I can't see much call for fitted carpets in the north either .

Also although wages are pretty poor in the ROC compared to the UK -- the wages in the north are much worse .

Hi Lee,
There is a reasonably large carpet shop in Limassol.

As has already been said, ceramic tiles are the floor covering of choice here but they are pretty cold in the winter.

On a positive note, i live in the mountains and our bedrooms all have fitted carpets.
We wanted to replace them but could not find a carpet shop that was interested in sending a fitter 25km from Limassol to fit four rooms. so there could be an opening for a fitter who is prepared to travel.

in england i live in clacton on sea and travel all over the country to work so 25km about 20 miles is not alot and wouldtravel those distances i travel some times 200 miles to work you have to go where the work is thanks again

Most of the hotels have fitted carpets in the corridors and in the bedrooms, so that may be a possibility!
