You were fooled like many others to believe that forums such as this were put up to benefit both communities, they were only created to serve one pupose and one purpose only and that is to make everyone believe we are all just Cypriots and there are no Turks or Greeks in Cyprus. Some were fools enough to believe this and fell for it hook, line and sinker and have turned against their own people.

The fact was, is and will remain forever that there are Turks and Greeks on the island and anyone who denies this is a fool and a traitor to himself. The proof is on the Greek side as it is on the Turkish side and is endorsed by both the communities leaders. The Greek side still flys the Greek flag and sings the Greek National Anthem and the Turkish side flys the Turkish flag and sings the Turkish National Anthem. But it is only the Greek side who is spreading lies that there are only "Cypriots" in Cyprus and no Greeks or Turks.

Fact is that the Greek Cypriots came from Greece some time ago as did the Turkish Cypriots came from Turkey. No one just poped up from under the olive trees and claimed to be a Greek Cypriot or a Turkish Cypriot. We all came from somewhere and to deny this is the biggest sin in any race or religion.

We Turkish Cypriots felt uneasy and unsafe with the Greek Cypriots wish for enosis which would have meant the total elimination of Turkish Cypriots in Cyprus and did not want to become "greek Muslims" as those Turks in Greece who are not even allowed to call themselves Turkish by order of Greek Law. The same thread is now again active with the claims that we are all "just Cypriots" which will mean that we will be assimilated into a Greek Cypriot controlled country who could at any time declare enesis with Greece as the sole owners of Cyprus and there would be nothing legally we as "Greek Muslims" can do about it.

If you people can't undestand this and still demand from us to forget out Turkishness and allow to be assimilated by the Greek Cypriots than there is something seriously wrong with all of you.

I for one and the great majority of TC's have no wish to forget our Turkishness or our Cypriot identity, that's why we demand to be known as Turkish Cypriots. We are not ashmed of who we are but if you Greeks are there really is no need to blame us for your shame. Call youesleves what ever you like but let us identify oueselves as we wish and not as you demand.

Your demands that we forget where we came from and who we are is more nationalistic than our demands to stay as who we are because you are demanding us to change while we demand that we (both Greek and Turkish Cypriots) do not deny our ancestors.

Cypriotness is a nationality, not a race and not a nation. We tried to be a nation but because of greediness by the Greek Cypriots and their desire to belong to a Hellenistic country destroyed what we had. It was proven that we can not live together then and TPaps and the Greek Cypriots still prove they don't wnat to live or share power with us Turkish Cypriots because we are Turkish Cypriots.

To not repeat the history of the 60's through to 74 and taking a huge chance of lot of people dying it is better the island stays divided and we can live in peace like we have been for the last 33nyears as neighbours. Unification will only mean more innocent people dying and more suffering for both communities.

You don't trust us and we don't trust you so what the point of a forced unification which we all know will never work?
