The statement was simple. History is written in blood.
It does not speak in the favour of any side.
Surely, you have every right to speak your mind. That means that you do represent yourself only. You are not allow to speak for the people of Cyprus as a whole, as their mouth. Your opinion is just a part of the catholic reality. Certainly there are some who amy agree with you, still you and them remain a part of the whole. Another part are those, regardless of which side are taking part, disagree with you. They are another part of the reality. So your initial judgment, rightfull may be for you, but yours it is. I do not doubt that your consider yourself a real Cypriot... But Cyprus reality consist of many parts.
So as you said you have the right to come to your own conclusions. That is the origin of subjectivism. The last... you are proud Cypriot, meaning what? Geographically speaking? It is a matter of definition and most probably you have in mind the content of the term as defined legally. So you are proud of what? Of your state? And what kind of people is this "Cypriot" people. What is their nature? What defines their existence?
Naturally whatever your answer may be it shall exress yourself, your own subjective conclusions. On the opposite my initial statement let me say carries no judgment, not any axiologic conclusions about anybody. Not even the Cypriot people, or the Greeks or the Turkish.
It smells reality. Whoever the blood is, history is made from blood. So simple. With no pride. But with clarity for those eyes ready to see and not interpretate with preconceptions.
As far as your cypriotism, it just shows the weakness of a fearful cypriotism. Whatever that is. What exists, the being of things has no need to declare its existence. Don' t u think?
