Well they need to use anything they can get their claws on, ultimate signs of desperation i tell you!

bollock snake, we can say whatever we like, as long as its not insulting Ataturk or Turkishness

Precicely the big difference son . I can call the Greeks a bunch of wankers , poofters , insult the Greek flag , insult Christianity , just as every free democratic nation on this planet can say about their country , or their religion , without the fear of some third world piece of shit arresting me for insulting my nation. Turkey is still buried in the past but she is changing and will change and that dated clause that makes it a crime to admit to indiscretions and past atrocities , will be binned along with the T/C s. That is the BIG difference mate. Every one knows who I'm , but I can express my views on the Cypriot politicians , the Greek politicians the very fibre of the Hellenic structure without fearing for my life.

We are real happy for you...so? does your choice influence us or should we feel jealous what is your point...everyone has choices we have made ours and are prepared to live with them, whats your problem.

militiades- Here is a offer for you: Go to South Cyprus. Make a public appearance on prime time TV or give a declaration/add to a widely read GC newspaper. Say or write that Papadpoulos is a son of a ... and that he is a .... that eats .... for breakfast and a traitor to all GCs, and further threaten to kill him. And if you don`t get prosecuted I`ll apply for South Cyprus citizenship. However, if you do, you`ll apply for TRNC citizenship.

You make the very big mistake of interpreting democracy as a system that allows people to do or say whatever he/she wishes whenever, wherever, to whomever, without any limit or boundary. That is not democracy. Democracy is "responsible" freedom where the state guarantees that your freedom does not inflict suffering, humiliation or limitations to the freedom of others.

I understand your point and of course there has to be some limit on freedom of speech; however, for the Turks, the freedom of speech bar is set far too low, and cannot even be called freedom with its necessary limits. I mean you can't even criticise Turkey or Ataturk? That is third world, ancient laws. Turkey will need to change this if they want to join the EU. It is clearly incompatible with the European Convention of Human Rights.

Its kind of impossible for me to forget Turkey when talking or even thinking about Cyprus, as they occupy 37% of Cyprus, or haven't you noticed? They have set up an illegal regime in the North and therefore discussing Turkey is clearly logical and appropriate. I can't help you if you are so racist against Greeks and Turks that you can't even stand the names being mentioned.

The answer to your question is, many are denied their human rights due to the Turkish occupying regime.

Simon- French parliament recently passed a resolution that calls the imprisonment of a person that simply states that he/she disagrees that the Armenian deaths in 1915 was a genocide... In Germany it is illegal to wear, carry or decorate with the Swastika, which is a widely-used sacred symbol in Dharmic religions (Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism), hence a signifcant violation of the religious freedom of some people in Germany, and there are many others like this... So, I suggest that you be very careful before preaching us about the EU. Any one who wishes to criticize both Turkey or Ataturk freely does it (and believe me that there are many) both in Turkey and in TRNC, have no concern over that, as long as it is within a framework of reason and ethical boundaries.

you said-

I`m sure that you would wish that this would be the reality. However, born and raised in the TRNC I say to you loud and clear: IT IS NOT! Having lived two years in the U.S. I have no hesitation in proudly saying that TRNC has not and does not denied or deny to its people any freedom or right which the U.S. grants to her citizens. So, becareful that you do not confuse realities with how you want things to be.

Talk about putting 2 and 2 together!

Has anyone Hindu, Bhuddist or Jainist (??) in Germany been arrested for using the Swastika within a religious concept? I think you will find they havent. Go spread you propagnda somewhere else!

...and what are those 'ethical boundaries'??? lol

What about the continual ethnic cleansing of Greek Cypriots and keeping them from enjoying their property???

Where's Zan when Fanos needs him. :?:

Oh I know, he is in Wales with his son, who is playing Rugby this weekend. :!:

I bet he can talk Fanos into coming back to the Forum, as he did with VP.

What was the magic word Zan said he used on VP again. :?:

I think he said, it was "Hellim".
