www.buysellcyprus.com What is required is money ;) You usually give a deposit of 1-2 months that it is returned to you when you leave after they subtract from that amount any damages that you made to the apartment.

Sabeaney,

Use Buy Sell as a guide to types of properties and locations, by all means but they are usually more expensive - as a rule. Sometimes, there can be a pleasant surprise but more often not....

We rented our house on a short visit to Cyprus just a couple of months before we moved out. We came on a 1 week visit and scoured the Cyprus Weekly and one of the Greek papers too. We had a Cypriot friend who helped us and made the phonecalls for us. We started looking on Thursday afternoon and had a property lined up by Saturday teatime.

We have a private rental agreement with the landlord and we've been here for 3yrs now. Our rent hasn't increased in that time and we are still paying C£250pm for our 3 bedroom bungalow.

Remember - if you go through an Agent, the cost will have been increased to take account of their commission - usually the equivalent of a months rent. Although the landlord pays the commission to the agent - it is the tenant who is paying the commission as you will be paying a higher amount of rent each month....

If you do decide to go via an agent - make sure you bargain the asking price down!

what i liked most about paphosfinder was not only were they helpful before we rented, they were also great afterwards, my landlords english isn't too good and i asked them to help, nothing seemed too much trouble.

I've met a few ppl who've had a bad time with rental agents, and thank me lucky stars i found PF. :)

but I need to know what you are looking for ??

forget the agents, they are all out to get your wonga ....

Go to www.findaproperty.com. Click on rentals and then overseas. You will be prompted with a list of European cities..click on Cyprus and good luck. I found my place using this website and the staff are very friendly. :D

Another recommendation for paphosfinder.com

2 tips..

Always haggle down the rent

Always play hardball on last 2 months rent and get agreement it will be paid out of your deposit BEFORE commencement of last 2 months...

Otherwise after you leave you may never see it again... they will always find an excuse regarding damages...

;)
