Lets try something different

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Lets try something different

Since we're never seem to get anywhere, can everyone just try to state what they honestly want from the other side, even if it isn't fair to the "others", just be honest and type what you would like to happen.

Please refrain from quoting or replying to anyone elses posts (at least for now), just type what you personally want, so we get an idea on how many people want this and how many people want that etc etc...

This way people (hopefully) wont get into stupid arguments and we can at least have something to work with...just a suggestion.

NO bringing up the past or trying justify what you want, just an honest reply, even if it's just one sentence.

NO replying to other posts to begin with. Let everyone have their say without all the confrontation, emotion, excuses and whatever else you all manage to cook up...and at the end you can do what you want.

FOR THE TIME BEING JUST A SIMPLE REPLY IS SUFFICIENT

I want for Cyprus to be a united normal democratic country like any other in EU where everybody can feel and be different if they wish but at the same time every citizen to be equal without racist discriminations.

Within the limits of human rights and democracy I am willing to discuss of how we can best satisfy the demands of some people and groups of citizens, but I am not willing to capitulate due to blackmail and compromise any of my human or democratic rights in order to satisfy unjust and unfair demands.

One Cyprus where everyone is treated equally.

Where people are judged for their contribution to Society and the Nation - and not on the basis of their ethnic background.

Where our leaders, both polictal and religious, and schools teach tolerance to others.

That an equitable solution is found to the displaced persons issue - though inevitably that will be a compromise with some rough justice.

Where we acknowledge the past but focus on the future.

one-citizen, one-vote with majority win on all voting right the way through government (local to top level) ; no pre-set GC:TC ratio for anything ; no foreign "guarantors" ; no foreign armies present ; no them and us situation ; property to be returned or compensated at current values with Turkey to provide financial to Cyprus to cover all compensation claims

Dismantling of the RoC and start all over again with Turkish/ Greek speaking Cypriots living together in a unified democratic nation, in harmony, respect and love of one another sharing all the resources, goods and services and most of all our homeland and all that it has to offer. Sharing it with our EU partners and indeed the rest of the world.

PS Great post turkish Cypriot ........ best seen thus far. :) :) :) Turkish Cypriot for President of Cyprus

what i want from people in both communities is to fight against racism, nationalism and false-patrioticm.
Lets throw out of the island all armies... turkish, greek, cypriot, brittish and lets realise finally we have more things in common than we think we have.
