free_cyprus ...... I appreciate that you wish cypriots to identify as cypriot and nothing else. That is my wish also. However, becuase currently we are divided into greek speaking/ turkish speaking sides and are identifying as such it is innevitable to identify as either one as to be able to communicate. I am sure that when we reach a oint of unification, we will all identify as cypriot, in the meantime I appreciate your frustration but perhaps you might like to accept it as a fact and not stress yourself overr it too much.

I hope you can understand how the rest of the forum feel about this issue, it is an identifying words used to communicate and make sense on this forum.

Northern Cyprus Hosts Clashes
Istambul, Apr 2 (Prensa Latina) Ultranationalist groups, supported by the Turkish high military command deployed in the Cypriot northern area performed clashes with people´s organizations, causing tension with the loc al authorities, the press highlighted on Monday.
Members of the Patriotic Front, an anti-imperialist political platform, were attacked In Eregli by a fascist group on Saturday, while collecting signatures for their We Do Not Fear the United States campaign.
The aggressors tried to destroy pamphlets, signature sheets, and the banners unfolded on the spot, but were repelled by citizens and military agents of the leftwing organization. The attacks were repeated a day after in the same place.
The report by the Patriotic Front and the Turkish Communist Party was published on Monday by the Sol daily, explaining how the ultra rightwing group carried out the attack.
The declaration stated that the public campaign against imperialism aggravated the animosity of the attackers, who were called "hamburger nationalists" by those who reported the incident.
They asserted that those happenings would not stop their struggle against imperialism, or become scared of grous at the service of the United States
