Turkish "Mind-set" Pre-Independance

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby eracles » Thu Mar 29, 2007 11:49 am

yeah, why do the GCs use the Greek anthem, how lazy is that?
Anyway Zan, the only reason Turks care about you is their strategic interest, nothing else. They know that TCs are mostly islamized GCs :) That's why the thallesaemia levels of GCs and TCs are so alike.

Yeah I'd like to know too, I'm not trying to challenge anyone just asking out of curiosity, if someone could fill me in I would appreciate it, thanks. :)

"…we are not dealing here with a mere duty but with a mission. Our mission is to make Cyprus our motherland."
Turkish Foreign Minister Ihsan Sabri Caglayangil, 1980

"Cyprus is valuable as a right arm for a country interested in its own defence of for its own expansionist aims if it harbours such aims...
Many states to a certain extent because it suits their interests, want to see the Cyprus problem as our desire to protect the Turkish community on the island, whereas the actual problem is the security of 45 million Turks in the motherland together with the Turks in the island and the maintenance of the balance in the Middle East."
Turan Gunes, Minster of Foreign Affairs of Turkey at the time of the invasion of Cyprus. 'Hurriyet', (Turkish newspaper), 1980

"One point we should never forget is that the intervention of Turkey in Cyprus was not effected solely for the 'blue eyes' of the Turkish Cypriot community... it also intervened moved by consideration of its own strategic interest."
Mehmet Ali Birand, Turkish newspaper Millyet, 13 March 1984

"The importance of Cyprus to Turkey does not arise from a single cause; it is a necessary which emanates from the exigencies of history, geography, economy and military strategy."
Turkish Foreign Minister Zorlu, 1955

"The radical solution... would be to cede one part of Cyprus to Greece and other, closest to the Turkish Asiatic coast, to Turkey."
Turkish Foreign Minister Erkin, June 1964

"Naturally Turkey has strategic interests in Cyprus. It is fortunate that the Turkish Cypriot community exists here. Even if the Turkish Cypriot community did not exist, Turkey would not have left Cyprus to Greece."
Turkish occupation representative Rauf Denktash, 23 July 1985

.....and George Bush said "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED" in 2003.!!

It goes to show, how much some "Great wannabees Politicians" know sometimes.!!

The proof will be in the pudding, as to how important Northern part of Cyprus is to Turkey, for her security, when she has to choose being in the EU, or being in Cyprus.

I have my feelings which way she will go, do you.??

I simply quoted Turkish opinions of their interests in Cyprus for T_Cs perusal but I don't neccessarily agree that Cyprus has any role to play in the interests of Turkey. Quite the contrary, Turkey would be better off joining the EU and abandoning Cyprus altogether but I do understand that successive Turkish governments are just too immature to admit to their disasters.

They know that TCs are mostly islamized GCs That's why the thallesaemia levels of GCs and TCs are so alike.

Well didn't they find that Greek and Turkish Cypriot DNA was so close to each other?

(If that makes any sense at all... :? )

On the subject of thalassemia, my cousin seems to be under the impression that in Cyprus they forbid you to marry if both partners carry the trait...she freaked out when she found out her long term boyfriend may have had it...but surely that's not right...don't they just advise you against the marriage?

(Just wandering.. )

I think that they just advise you on this. If both have the "stigma" as they call it then you are erged to have to test the embryo at the very early stages of pregnancy.

This says it all.

"Naturally Turkey has strategic interests in Cyprus. It is fortunate that the Turkish Cypriot community exists here. Even if the Turkish Cypriot community did not exist, Turkey would not have left Cyprus to Greece."

And you think Turkey gives a sh*t about the TCs. The TCs were just convenient for strategic aims, your own former leader even said it.

@ Simon as well.

Even more reason for us to seek the recognition of the TRNC/KKTC because if we go on what you say then as the RoC does not give a shit about us either then we need to look after our selves. Out of both of you it makes sense to pick Turkey because without us their hold on Cyprus is not tenable where as you guys can get rid of us and no one would care. You are on a loser there boys. You offer me nothing.

Ya wanna think that one over again huh!.

Zan,

Seek recognition all you like. Where has it got you so far?

The RoC does give a sh*t, however, TCs are pushing the people of the RoC away, by supporting the occupation of our island.

Here is something we can offer you: legality. I know your not too familiar with the concept, but try it, you might like it.

Your comment about no-one caring is just plain ridiculous. Do you really believe the bull-sh*t you write?

We are the losers, I hardly think you can call your situation winning either.
