"Enosis had always been for the Greek Cypriots a deeprooted national aspiration. To me independence is a comprimise. In other words, if I had a free choice between ENOSIS and independence, I would support ENOSIS."
(2) Archbishop Makarios III, in an interview given to the Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet, 12 March 1977
"It is in the name of ENOSIS that Cyprus has been destroyed"
And? Are you going to tell us that Denctash, Kucuk and the TC leadership never spoke about Taksim back then?
Before 1960 that we signed those agreements, enosis was our right. After that we could talk and dream and write about it as much we wanted. Because you forced as to sign an agreement against what was our right that doesn't mean you could shut our mouth as well. Get it?
And why do you bring back this topic over and over? To excuse your crimes and illegalities of today? Sorry, mate but thats inexcusable. If you want to go back in history to find excuses for punishment the first that should be punished are the turks who started it all and committed about a 100 times more crimes over a 100 times longer period and they continue in the exact same way as they have always been. Invading, killing, raping and stealing what others created. The whole world knows who you are. Don't try to hide behind lame excuses. You sound even funnier than Bush trying to excuse his Iraq invasion.
