So i was at the Immigration office this morning and in the offices where the admin work takes place there are big no smoking signs behind every desk. But......

on every desk there were also ashtrays and packs of cigarettes and at least one public servant was smoking in the closed room i was in and asked the other one to pass the ashtray. I made a slight joke about it and asked if i were allowed to smoke too if i wanted.. they hesitated with a guilty conscience and then said i could :-)

But i don't smoke anway...

Now... Had this been a private office i wouldn't mind so much, but i am really annoyed to know that they are so blatantly breaking the law and to think they are representing Cyprus and it's government.

I would report it to someone but i know it's pointless., this is Cyprus after all!

5 years ago , an immigration officer got sick of seeing me and my girlfriend so many times..
that he asked us to get married, just so we would`nt bother him anymore .. :shock:

When I replied, that he had just asked me to break the law..
he got angry and threw us out of the office..

Thanks for that address fo rthe Health and Safety.

I can now report my workplace as they all seem to think smoking fags and cigars is fine in the work area. It is a tobacco company though :evil:
