As someone mentioned before you can "acquire" software that restores deleted files as when it is deleted it is just the drive sector marked as available (the data is still there but ignored) so providing you haven't wrote anything else to the drive there is still home. do a google search for file recovery software for example, you will be surprised.

Aidy, I'm sure you mean well but you're giving incorrect advice/information here because her problem is an overwritten PARTITION, not deleted files.

Also, when a file is deleted the first character of the file's name is changed to a "reserved" acsii character (can't remember which right now but it might be #17) and that makes the file system ignore it and treat it as a non-entity. When a file "undeleter" is used it simply replaces the first character of the file name to any valid character (>#30?) and presto that file appears as an entity in the directory. No magic there!

A drive's "sectors" is something totally different which I won't go into right now.

Strangely per 1M it seems to me too expensive but for 1G the price is too cheap. Interesting what they offer. How I understood you make the decision so it just my idle curiosity :)

Sylvia will probably think we're calling her FAT now! :) Good point, probably because one or more people mentioned it!

Is it #229? (the little greek "s") I just can't remember!
