Thats a great thought Dione3012...you could even start Greek before come to Cyprus! It will help you with your living here! But even that you are interested to learn and let your children learn the language and go to a state school is one of the important steps. I agree with all that Niki said except of the best private schools thing! Anyway, I dont think that is a bad choice to send your children to a private school but if you have decided to live in Cyprus for your rest of your life or for many many years and your children are in that age...is better to send them to a state school...it will be easier for them to learn the language, make friends from their neighbour, be sociable ... they will not feel like they are different from other kids... at least not after few months...

Hope everything will be fine with you and your family!!

Hi not sure what type of school you are looking for? Ages of the children? I live on the army base @ Dhekelia (Larnaca) and have just found out that ex-pats can send thier children to the schools on camp, these follow the UK National Curriculum and are governed by OFSTED and inspected as are any UK schools. This may be an option for you especially if you ever decide to return back to the UK the children would be on track with UK schools still? They have primary, nursery and Secondary schools on camp. Hope this was of some help? Good Luck.
