Turkey suspends F-16 purchase from US over Cyprus

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Thanks TC. I liked your "i don't know" emoticon very cute. Is it from the same collection of the big ones?

But on the matter of poppy growing you really surprise me. There is a whole region in Turkey called "Afion" that grows it, its more profitable than wheat, besides the villagers know nothing else. I don't know how old you are but in the 70s hash and heroin meant Turkey, it was all over the media. Then it suddenly stopped. Nothing in the media-complete silence.
To be honest it was Turkey Pakistan and Afganistan back then. Latin America came later. If you watch movies of the 70s that involve stories with hash Turkey was No1.

The funny thing is Turkey has very strict laws for drugs, on the other hand they are indeed produced in huge quantities. Who controls this bussiness is another matter though.

They can always do it the way Greece did and TAX the prostitutes and include the takings to balance their books.

melbourne is also doing it, why not? its a profession, like any other.

by becoming legal and run like a business it keeps the trade clean and removes the black market form it.

I wasn't around in the 70's I'm afraid. I know about Turkeys involvement with heroin but wasn't aware of the hash. I've even heard on some program that 80% of heroin in Europe comes from Turkey :?

Like I said before your guess is good as mine (if anything better) because I have no idea about these things.

(I saved a few new Emoticons on the site I posted in the "general chat" forum. Lena put up a few links too. I saved a few onto my photobucket account in the "misc" sub forum, have a look in there if you need to use them...)

not yet, but i am sure as soon as they find a way they will be taxing.

its a proven fact that nicotine is addictive where grass is not, and they are taxing it. whats stopping them taxing grass is they haven't found a way yet, apart from on the spot fines of AUS$25 for anything under 100 grams.

in some states, like south australia and the capital act, you can even grow up to 5 plants for lpersonal use.

ps. todays grass, skunk as its called is 100 times more potent than what hash was in its hey days. but still not addictive
