How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

As far as I know they're paying something around 10billion for them. I don't know for sure though..

as for show, they will be fit with an engine from TOYOTA PRIUS good enough to taxi it round the Airfield for CNN TURK's cameras...which then will be edited with test flight footage and shown to proud population where some people still share a bed with goats.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that....

@ TC

So in your opinion does it worth it? I mean even if it is 10 billion. Or is it a waste of money for nothing. Like I said they could have bought the whole occupied area with that.

Well now I have heard it all .... Turks are tottally dumb what is a third world country doing buying killing machines. Whilst large portions of it population is living well below the poverty line.

Turkey would be better concentrating on getting her arse out of Cyprus allowing Turkish Speaking Cypriots an autonomy they are searching for, making changes within its own country adn getting membership with EU not buying machines designed to exterminate human life. Now we can see that Turkey is nothing more than barbaric and unitelligent nation, which has one aim to bully her way in the international arean. DUMB DUMB DUMB

As far as the Americans .... what are they up too anyway? I thought all they cared about was money. Now what have they got up their sleeves .... not to be trusted

In my honest opinion NO! Not at all!

I don't know their reasoning for buying them, but to me it just seems like a waste of money specially when they already have a big collection of planes.

OK TC. Lets see if we can enlighten each other.

I really don't know why they did it but I remember hearing in the past this was the "purchase of the Century".

Is there a possibility they did it, just only to embed the status of the Military in Turkey? Imo The Turkish Military controls "dirty bussinesses" in Turkey supplying the Americans with hash. Do you think these 10 billion is a kind of "account balance"?

Humanist I STRONGLY believe the US-TURKEY relations have nothing to do with geo-strategic reasons. It was very strange for me when in the 70s Turkey was one of the first Countries in the world accused of hash and poppy grow and supply to the US (Afganistan was also suprisingly in the list as well) and then all of a sudden CASE CLOSED and became a so called geo-strategic partner.

The KURDS for your information do exactly the same bussiness. They sell hash, to buy guns. Surprise-surprise the Americans are now making them masters in Kirkuk.

Image Pyro I really wouldn't know. It's a possibility I suppose, your guess is as good as mine when it comes to the Turkish army!

I personally have never heard about Turkey dealing with hash though, I've heard their dealings on other things :? (which I wont mention) but not hash so I have no idea why, how, what for:?:

the THK may even consider to abandon the idea of buying around 100 JSF fighters from the US

as if the us is gonna give a shit about it. this is for internal consumption only.

the jsf plane spec is a good one with all the options, but as usual the us will not allow the plane to be sold with all the options fitted. it will be downgraded, as it was the case with the uk screaming not so long back. now if the uk isn't getting the plane fitted with all the options what makes anyone think turkey will?

the point here is that the us allows the imf to give money to turkey in the form of loans, and then the us stands first in line to take all this money back from turkey. its a damn good relationship.

yes hash is no longer consider a good cash crop, but heroin is.

an example of the army running drugs, just have a look at the north where for every 4 or 5 citizens there is a soldier, the biggest ratio worldwide and then have a look at the illicit trade and tell me who is running it.
