Thanks. It is designed to be as informative as possible, not eye-candy.

If you want the latest forecast, you can now go to http://www.cypenv.org/wxfcast/forecast.php (please bookmark/favourite it).

This is provisional and is not yet 100% automatic, but will be updated at irregular intervals during daylight hours. Siga, siga, there will be improvements made.

For your info, I have had some people beta-testing this forecasting over thas week or two. They are all impressed with its accuracy, "much better than the Cyprus Mail", said one!

I disagree with Sotos. It's fine for what it's intended for. If it was the Warner Brothers then you'd probably throw in a few cartoon characters but it's not. Good work.

As a balloon pilot, I depend a lot on good forecasting to make the right decision. I shall be watching the accuracy of this with interest!

It may turn out to be too general bearing in mind we're flying early in the morning in the hills outside of Pafos, but will certainly be useful for general planning.

Keep up the good work, you've got my vote! :D

Good luck

root Opera has few widgets about weather (e.g touchtheSky) I believe IE has it also but none of them reports Mosfiloti's weather :)

The Akrotiri METAR is only one of over 100 METARs and buoys, up to 1200 km away, that I use for my forecasts. Actually, the best general one for Cyprus is Ercan (Tymbou) because it is the only one away from specific coastal influences. Akrotiri is possibly the most atypical because it has the coast close to on three sides and the salt lake on the fourth, so it has a very specific microclimate which is different from that of Limassol. I take measurements made in Bulgaria, Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Syria and Turkey, as well as buoys, to calculate mine. Unlike met. offices, I take into account microclimates and the orographical effect of the Troodos massif. I think that anyone living within a 20-30 km radius of here, away from the coast, will find my forecasts will be more accurate than any official ones.
