Events for Easter

Postby joderv1 » Fri Mar 23, 2007 9:29 pm

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me if there are any events for Easter i.e. parades etc? Or maybe some nice places to go with children. I live in Nicosia.

Also are all shops closed over Easter period?

Thanks.

Jo :)

Jo...East is a family event for us in Cyprus... and a Christian event...but what exactly are you looking for? Which days are you interested? I live in Nicosia so I might be able to help...but i am not so sure! We usually arrange things among relatives but we have the traditional East games on Sunday afternoon!!! And I am sure that something else will be arranged for that day as well!!!
And no shops will not be close over Easter period!! Just 2-3 days!!!

this year the catholic and orthodox easter is at the same time and thats no good. usually i enjoy it when we have them at different times coz i get to have a 4 day break during the catholic easter break. we get good friday and easter monday off and no holiday for the orthodox easter, and usually go away to the beach. this year it will be wasted at home.

lena what easter games are you talking about?

Pitsilos...I thought you was Cypriot...you are not???

If you are you must know those games as "ta paixnidia tis Lampris"...which take place usually at the school yard of every village in Cyprus!!!
