Talat calls off crucial meeting

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby humanist » Thu Mar 22, 2007 10:56 pm

I think turkish speaking cypriots ought to have a referendum to decided whether they are going for unification or partition and stop wasting people's time and effort, Then call upon the RoC for talks or no talks. In the meantime another year will pass and who is affected the most?????? Turkish speaking Cypriots, Congratulations Mr Talat. You wil sure going down in history as the man who kept his people oppressed.

The reality is Turkish Speaking Cypriot leadership is going for partition and are waiting for direct trade to give themn just that. However it will never happen so lets just keep on marching on RoC and forget the rest.

Talat is selling his people to the Turks and no one is doing anything about it. I wonder if the wider Turkish Speaking Cypriot Community is wanting this.,

Talat has been signing uncovered checks with future day on them...this day is getting closer and once the TCs go to the bank they will realise that the account is empty...this has been the case for 32 years now. Dektash has found this out the hard way and hence the opening of the boarders once the kettle was about to explote from the accummulated pressure. Lets see what will happen with Talat if he does not succeed on the promise of direct trade.

I don't think TSCyp's did Zan, they voted for the AP, now they need to rethink their situation and decide again as to what they want to do. Because their leader is heading the oppositte direction and is waiting for mummy turkey to make the decision for them.

I have always believed that the T/Cs are primarily Cypriots first and Turkish Cypriots second , notice I say Turkish Cypriots NOT Turkish. On the very few occasions that I have confused a Cypriot Turk as a Turkish , I was quickly put in my place by being corrected . The Cypriot Turk is a very proud Cypriot and does get annoyed when instinctively he is taken for a Greek Cypriot when responding to a question as to his country of origin and he replies Cyprus. I see T/Cs , as well as Turkish mainland and Kurds on a daily basis because of the nature of the business that I run . A strange event only this Monday gone when in my office at the same time I had a Greek from South Africa originally from Athens , a Turkish mainland businessman in the glassware business promoting his company in the UK , and a Turkish Cypriot Restaurateur , and guess what I was more at ease with the Cypriot than the other two.

It is a shame Humanist that when you started here you were different to the rest but now you have become another clone that blames everything on us. I think you know all the problems faced by the TCs in meeting with an EOKA man that wants everything on his terms and that TPap not wanting to meet Talat on an official basis is just another trick, so what you write can no longer be deemed an accident. I really cannot point at a single one of you and say you really understand the situation apart from Cyp who posts here now and again. It really is disappointing and revealing at the same time.

Get use to me Zan, I don't get fooled as easily as some of my compatriots so I have no illusions... and luckily neither does our current government.
