What about the Turks??

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby humanist » Thu Mar 22, 2007 11:16 pm

Lets assume that the Turkish invasion was valid in 1974 and to some extend I would agree that it was. Is it valid and relevant today? Have the lives of turkish speaking cypriots been enhanced or are they living in a dictatorship not very much different than other dictatorship. Keeping in mind that Turkish Speaking Cypriot writters have come out to speak against the oppressive regime of the "trnc".

TRNC does not suppress anything or anyone more than a ny other democracy in the world does. Your claim even contradicts itself... How can there be writers speaking and writing against the policies of their state if that state as you claim is suppressive or a dictatorship? Read the the newspaper Afrika and you`ll see the level of tolerance granted by our state in terms of freedom of speech.

How about the 1000 + legal charges against Sener Levent your TRashNcan State of free speech has pending. How about the various bombs at the offices of Africa. And how about the manipulations that closed down Avrupa?

And how about article 159 of the "constitution" of TRashNcan that steals the GC properties and donates them to whoever it likes and to settlers? Yeah, democratic my ass.

1- you can not call a state a dictatorship because a couple of nationalist fanatics attack a newspaper

2- I have friends who work in Afrika, but won`t mention their names here. The other day they mentioned that all three of the printers in their main office went down. According to your mentality, this is the fault of the state and an implication of dictatorship.

3- How many newspapers in the Greek Cypriot controlled areas of Cyprus can you name to us that criticize its administration as harshly as Afrika does the TRNC?

4- Can you deny the harassment Greek Cypriot journalist Lucas G. Charalambous endures ?

5- And for your particular comment:

Yeah, democratic my ass

No, democracy in your ass!
