Just to start us off!

Here is one I wrote for my boys a while back but have adapted it for Eleni and MUM Andri.


TOYS
My parents buy me lots of toys
To help me when I play
But every time I take them out
Mum makes me tidy them away
“What is all this mess?” she says
“Can’t you play more orderly”
I take a little look around
And I’m afraid I must agree

My dolls jump out of the box
And simply lay around
My shoes explode just everywhere
Spilled wildly on the ground

My pens and pencils look as if
They’ve fallen from the sky
And the state of my other toys
Would make a grown man cry

But my mothers anger
Is extreme, to a degree
She’ll have to look to someone else
Because it simply wasn’t me





Cheeky Monkey!

Dizzy.

I don’t know what came over me

I really shouldn’t have done it

But I turned a tortoise on its back

And with great force I spun it



It looked so very funny

Spinning with such velocity

And it shocked me when I thought I heard

A sound very much like “Wheeeee”.



As it slowed and then it stopped

And it wobbled on the floor

Somewhere deep inside my head

I heard the sound of “More”.


I gave it one almighty spin

And that really did the trick

Because this time I distinctly heard

The sound of a tortoise being sick.

Angels are watching you,
I told them what to do,
Its their job to be there,
And believe me, who ever dare,
To come close to you,
Or think to harm you,
they will be scared by my angels,
and I dont pay them any wages,
Just told them about you,
and they told me that with a booo,
they will scare everyone,
they wont let anyone,
to take away your smile,
even if his name is Gail!!

My angels loves you,
and take care of you!!!

I brought up my two sons on a CD ROM by a man named Jack Prelutsky. Funny, interactive, crazy poems for children. I found this site for Eleni on those days for Mum and daughter. Enjoy.
