I have a suggestion that should Cyprus unite , a new national anthem in full praise of smoking should be adopted.

miltiades, I would have thought that there is enough 'Smoke' in the third world countries already, judging by the amount of bombs being dropped all over them by the US.

I do believe most of the 'Giants' of the tobacco industry are in the US, so I suppose a little more won't do too much damage, what do YOU think?.

miltiades, you have not responded to the question and I miss the insults that are surely to come, I DO hope that you will confirm your ignorance once again, it IS your finest attribute after all Sir.

I would never suggest that age promotes wisdom , but would most certainly suggest that experience of life's tribulations does teach one certain fundamentals .
My dear sister died of cancer last year , never smoked , but her husband did heavily.
Also last year the wife of an Italian friend in the restaurant business died of lung cancer. She never smoked .He did , heavily.
My own wife never smoked , she is battling cancer today . I smoked heavily.
Doctors and scientists are telling us that smoking whether passive or otherwise does cause cancer. An irrefutable fact.
What age has taught me is that you can not go against nature it will catch up with you sooner rather than later. I gave up after being taken twice to hospital suffering from acute heart arithmea .
To suggest that banning smoking in restaurants and pubs is some how an infringement of the smokers rights is absolute nonsense. How about my rights NOT to take in your filthy smoke.
Eliko you are a twat in suggesting that people should compensate a publican if fined for allowing smoking in his premises, but there again all of your views are garbage , in my humble opinion Sir !

miltiades, why do you have to resort to insult at your every opportunity?, your opening comments are worthy of consideration, the bereavements you have suffered are deserving of sympathy from all of us, your current situation is a tribute to your own perseverence in that you managed to cease smoking for the most noble reasons.

The scientific and medical opinions have been under scrutiny for several years, they may be correct but they are certainly not irrefutable YET, (although I am prepared to accept that they do carry much weight).

I am sorry to hear of your personal health problems and wish you well in the future.

The remainder of your observations are confusing in that they would almost appear to be written by some other person, your interpretation of what you read is seriously at fault, are you unable to understand simple points if they do not fit your own perceptions?.

I DID NOT suggest that people should compensate a publican, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, back over several. if not MOST of my posts, you are constantly mis-reading my posts for a simple reason, you are unable to comprehend the meanings of them.

The end result is that you insult YOURSELF rather than the target of your insult, I wish you would not for it makes me feel shame for you (as you are an older man) and I have been taught to respect my elders.

I have informed you of that fact previously, you have ignored it to your own detriment Sir. :(

Nearly got caught out by the cigarette end police the other day, I popped in to a local bar (in the UK) and popped out again for a quick smoke (it has to be quick cause of the rain) and couldn't find any place to put the butt so nearly used the footpath, luckily I spotted the plainclothes cigarette police in time and saved myself a £50 fine, It would have been a problem to put it out anyway because of all the chewing gum spit out all over the path but hey that's not a problem.
