Activity Insurance

Postby zoopigi man » Wed Mar 21, 2007 5:42 pm

Does anyone know if any of the Cyprus insurance companies provide 'activity' insurance - the sort of insurance that provide covers you for 'dangerous' sports - providing S&R and repatriation as well as the usual medical cover?

Cheers

Our personal accident specifically states that dangerous sports are NOT included. This also includes football!!!! Tell the insurance company that you want this covered, premium will increase but you'll have the cover. :)

Thanks Twinkle - but it needs to be a specialist supplier. A normal insurance policy from a bog-standard company, with the price jacked up to cover additional activities, isn't up to the job. The specialists in this area provide, in addition to the required financial support, invaluable assistance in sorting out whatever stupid scrape you've got yourself into in the first place.

It's a bit of along shot to find one in Cyprus, but you never know unless you look!

Minerva Insurance normally cover sports like rallying or similar. Give them a call.

Thanks, but It's not for diving but for climbing. I did have a quick look though - would you really be covered if you were resident in Cyprus - it looked like it was oriented towards US residents?

You related to GAVCARoCOM at all? I live in Cyprus. Most underwriters of these sorts of policy require you to be resident in the country in which you take out the policy.
