Turkey's military performance in July 1974...

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

for one , the turkish army is one of the best in the region.

during the invasion though the turkish army didnot proove afficient at all.
on the other hand our army was even worse - due to treason and stupidity.

hence the results.

My point is that technically we could have defended our country well, had it not been for the internal mess, from an invasion of hopeless illiterate anatolian peasants.

When I hear that kind of supercilious arrogant attitude, the only phrase that comes to mind is; pride comes before a fall.

Read the Art of War by Sun Tsu and then speak about military action.

And my point, repeated, is that no one wins in war.

Contemplate this…

Cyprus controls the destiny of 70 million Turks huffing and puffing at the EU doorstep, controls the Mediterranean sea with her 2,000 odd commercial flag-ships, and very soon will be controlling the Mediterranean airways as the new EU civil aviation hub.

In fact I envisage that by 2035 Cyprus will even have a permanent base on southern Turkish soil where the fat, greedy, capitalist, Cypriot will be shouting “Jump!” and his Anatolian cheap labour will be asking “How high?”.

With regards to the “Art of War” I browsed through that decades ago and tossed it in the can where it belongs. This is the missile age so I wouldn’t worry too much about choosing to attack an enemy on horseback while they’re crossing a river because they’re slower! Get with the times and forget that old wife's tale that the book is still relevant today.

I hadn't heard that one, and I'm sure that there were cases (though with a bit of initiative couldn't someone break down the door or tear the bars out of the windows?). It is not 100% true though, and some GC units did fight well. Just not enough to stop the invasion.

If the RoC does not stop pissing off the real big boys in the EU she will get the slapping of her life to show her where she exactly belongs. As for the rest of your rhetoric.......... You made the mistake of underestimating the "Anatolians" more than once before.

As for you. Your arrogance is extreme to a degree. You ran down forum as being inferior to the other forum where you have got your arse kicked by more than one person but erolz in particular but still you stay and mix with us peasants. Feeling a bit lonely are we.

Zan…

The big boys in the EU have trapped themselves in red tape and political correctness so I can’t see any EU member getting “slapped” as such, but we shall see…

As for the rest of your rhetoric.......... You made the mistake of underestimating the "Anatolians" more than once before.

My criticism in this thread is aimed at Turkey, the invader of my country, the confiscator of my home, the killer of my family, the violator of my rights, so if you see fit to take offence in their place then I’m afraid you’ve got a problem and you’re just going to have to deal with it as I don’t ever plan to stop campaigning until my justice is served.

As for you. Your arrogance is extreme to a degree. You ran down forum as being inferior to the other forum where you have got your arse kicked by more than one person but erolz in particular but still you stay and mix with us peasants. Feeling a bit lonely are we.

It’s pointless arguing with you over who got whose arse kicked and in which debate because there’s no points system to determine that as in Boxing, and thus everyone is entitled to a personal opinion although I can honestly say that I have yet to be proven technically wrong where possible, as I do work VERY hard to get my facts right, and all else is theory and/or speculation which is always debatable anyway.
