The Cyprus government has deplored the actions of those who caused damage to vehicles belonging to Greek Cypriots, Turkish Cypriots and foreigners during a Turkish Cypriot poetry evening in the Republic of Cyprus controlled areas on Monday.

“Such actions neither serve our cause nor reflect the democracy or ethos that define the people of Cyprus,” said the Government Spokesman George Lillikas.

This is the second bicommunal event in recent weeks in which attendees’ cars have been vandalised. At the previous event there was also a hoax bomb scare.

Lillikas said the Police were investigating the case and expressed hope that the guilty parties would be found and prosecuted.

“We hope that such actions will not be repeated in future, as they provide bad service to our struggle,” he noted.

The event had been organised in the government-controlled areas of the Republic by the associations of authors of the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot communities.

The same way they found the criminals who burned 3 GC cars at Ayios Mamas church in Morfou. (One of them belonged to a friend of mine)

The same way those people (according to Talat) they would be compensated for their burned cars, but 2 years have already passed and nobody receive a single penny.

As you can see Gav HERE IS CYPRUS.

Truth is the only violence so far has been vandalisms on cars.

Hey I have an old Ford it may worth less than 50 pounds I would be glad to sacrifice it to vandals if that would be the price to pay for a solution
