I saw it the other day on the projector to get that cinema feeling (love Bond and have been to the last 7 or 8 in the cinema but I was moving when this one came out so I missed it), and even then I wasn't that happy. I normally totally love Bond, but this one didn't grab me. It's all very well saying it's the most realistic and gritty Bond ever, but for me that totally doesn't work. The best Bond films, IMHO, are the ones where Bond is almost untouchable, has awesome gadgets, battles bad guys who have evil lairs that are underground, in a volcano, in space, under the water etc and they want to TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!!! (or destroy it). Unrealistic yes, perhaps even not what Flemming originally wanted, but it is what I grew up with and everything I love about Bond. At the end of the day I watch Bond to be taken into a fantasy world, much like Star Wars or Harry Potter (ie. totally unrealistic), not to have stories which are extremely likely and could easily be happening right now in reality. Nah.
Apart from that I think "Blonde" Bond could actually be quite good. He certainly fits the part quite well. The next film just needs a giant laser weapon, a plot to destroy the world, a massive underwater evil base, sharks and watches with lasers, a better bad guy, and a cat. And a Lotus
