Nihat Ilhan Speaks Out about Bath Murders

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby pitsilos » Thu Mar 22, 2007 11:45 am

the problem with this alexios sane people can see through the bullshit and others can't. ie. the starter of this thread is blind as a bat. and thats the problem. it takes an enormous amounts of posts to cut through the bullshit, and even then as the starter of the thread is yet to acknowledge it. hense the sensationalised posts as you put it.

again i sincerely hope and pray that the innocent victims in this case rest in an eternal peace.

Pitsillos, let us be tolerant with people the way we would like them to be with us. We really dont know the experiences someone went through. We dont know their possible traumatic childhoods they dont know of ours. I beg you to try and see the other's point of view as well.

THIS IS A PERFECT OPPORTUNITY.I BEG EVERYONE TO COME OUT ON THIS THREAD AND APOLOGISE FOR WHATEVER WRONG HIS SIDE DID ON BEHALF OF THOSE WHO DID IT.

I start myself and say i sincerely apologise.

Birkibrisli wrote:I am not sure about Kikapu, but it looks like myself,Mrfromng, and Zan were within a few kilometres of the incident as it happened. Zan was the closest.I missed the bit where he talked about visiting the house,so I can't say why he was there. But please try to remember these were very unusual and terrfying times for all of us,as we were convinced the GCs were about to massacre the lot of us,wherever we were.
I told earlier elsewhere how my father gave me a hand grenade, and told me to blow myself and my mother and sisters up if the GCs came to the door, before he came back from fighting at the walls...Please try to imagine the state of terror we were all in during those terrible weeks...

Zan...My father was one of the area commanders, and in his unit they had one brengun,a few sten guns, some granades and pistols ,and the rest had shotguns as you say.We were not as poorly armed as you recall.
Of course I don't know what the defenders at Kumsal had,or even if there were any defenders there. And I think it is pointless and probably impossible to try to work out how events unfolded on that tragic night at Kumsal. But going on what we know for sure here is what I believe happened:
150 GC irregulars under ovreall command of a Greek Officer, went to clear Kumsal of TCs.They had no idea what to expect, and was hence very tense and apprehensive. The Unit which came to the Ilhan house probably contained some die hard EOKA gunmen who lost the plot when they realised this was the house of a Turkish officer. There would have been photos of Mr Ilhan in army uniform on the walls. They started indiscriminate shooting whatever moved around the house, then panicked and run away, probably thinking that they would be in trouble with their own commander, especially if that was Tasos Mavrou and what we hear about him being a very principles and honourable person is true.
Remeber that hundreds of TCs were taken prisoner at Kumsal that night, and all were released unharmed a few days later.

So when TMT found out they saw this as a priceless opportunity for propaganda, and for getting the Turkish Army contingent, which was still at their barracks and uninvolved, involved as soon as possible, and even perhaps hoping that would drag Turkey into the action as well.Turkey at the time was run by Ismet Inonu who was a dove and not a hawke...

The master manipulator, journalist Omer Sami Cosar was sent in to do his work, and he himself is on the record for saying that he did arrange the bath scene for maximum propaganda effect...

As I said earlier,I do not believe we should be looking for excuses or blame appostioning in this terrible crime against humanity.Cypriots, people born and raised in our homeland were responsible for this dstardly act and the ensuing propaganda war,and for that we have all been diminished and wounded as human beings.

But unlike MR I believe we should be able to talk about this in a civilised and constructive way,and empathise with each other,in order to build understanding and trust.I know it is difficult and I am trying to hold back my tears as I write this, but the way forward is not via sweeping unpleasant things under the carpet...

Now excuse we while I go and eat to calm my nerves... :( :( :(

This is one of the best posts Birkibrisli. I am in tears already not only for the Inhal family but for our dark past.
I also believe the discussion on the matter was excellent.
Let's just pray for the victims and think of the poor Turkish doctor whose life became a wreck. Can you imagine his position?

I believe Lana should lock this thread at this point, it's been too emotional for many people, as has already been the request of other participants.

Let's move to some other quarells shall we please?

NB. I am PMing Lana.

alexios i was born near, actually one street away from the tc domain in limassol, and near the gypsies, i have nothing but fond memories in my short life in cyprus. i stated before that to this very day i remember running to dugouts during my primary years in 63 when the alarm went off. at night the neighbourhood we would gather usually to a couple of houses with a descent backyard and help with the dugouts. this included tcs. after all we were all cypriots. there was no animosity as we all knew that the alarms were going off because of the turkish airforce. now i shared this story a couple of times in this forum.

the reason i came to this board is to learn more about our dark history, since my parents never talked about the cyprus problem and as i was growing up i never really had the time. so no brainwashing here at all. my kids also know nothing about the cyprus. but i'll be fucked if i am gonna put up with UNCHALLENGED bullshit mate. whats the point? argue for ever?

the blinded fool and the starter of this same thread has never shared anything in anyway shape or form, apart from sensationalised bullshit propaganda. hence again all the posts and wasted energy someone has to put through to see what the hell is going on. and now you are asking for an apology?

well here it comes alexios i apologise for all the wrong doings that we did to each other, coz mate i see myself above all as a cypriot and all the wrong doings were done by cypriots. in my books there is not us and them but us. we all fucked up in a big way.

the sooner we stop seeing ourselves as us and them the quicker we can move on.

SO SORRY FOR THE FUCKUPS OUR OLDIES, ALL CYPRIOTS DID TO HASTEN THE DESTRUCTION OF OUR COUNTRY.

ps. lets see what the blinded fool, the jester of the forum will come up with next. don't worry it won't be long.
