theres is always a way to find middle ground about things like that.
it takes some courage though, and some knowledge of history

I support nothing that EOKA-B did.

Now tell me why the EOKA of 1955-59 were traitors. They fought against the colonialists, so whom they betray? The Queen of England?

In support of Piratis' view...

Greek Cypriots shed blood, sweat, and tears during 1955-59 in their ultimately successful political and military campaign to liberate Cyprus from the British, albeit with some compromise such as the British bases.

It is indeed rather unfortunate that the Turkish Cypriot community had no interest in a liberated Cyprus and chose to side with the occupier.

They called it EOKA-B because they hoped to get the support of the people (but they did not) and because the leader (Grivas) was the same.

Papadopoulos was in the political branch of the original EOKA. Not only he had nothing to do with EOKA-B, but on the contrary he was a close associate (and minister) of Makarios, who EOKA-B tried to kill and overthrown.

The original EOKA fought against the colonialists and those that helped them (although some people within the original EOKA were anti-communists and some killings not related to liberation were made also)

EOKA-B was a terrorist organization that committed crimes against Cypriots and tried to overthrown the democratically elected government of Cyprus.

Some members of EOKA-B and even the son of Samson are now members of DISY which is now the opposition party to the government of Papadopoulos.

Actually when Cleredes (DISY) was in power, they gave some benefits to some former EOKA-B members.

However, what I would say is that Grivas, who started both EOKA and EOKA-B should not be honored in any way. Therefore I would fully support a movement to rename all streets that have his name or anything else that honors him, and just keep what is necessary for historically reasons (like his hide-out during the anti-colonialist struggle)
