Churches turned into restaurants in occupied areas?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I hope the photos are not labeled "biased" just because the links come from the priests

Thank you Pyrpolizer. Sorry to be so late in replying but I do not have broadband and it has taken me a lot of time to download 16MB+.

The pictures are interesting, but they do seem to confirm my opinion that there has been little hostility, just neglect and weather damage. If there had been hostility I would expect to see writing on the wall and the faces of the painted icons wiped out. What I see from the pictures - and coming from a GC source I imagine that they are not just showing the best bits - is random plaster falling off the walls and mold due to 32 wet winters and dry summers.

Portable icons will have been stolen, although some have been collected and put in other churches that are being maintained and used as museums.

All this is sad, but if you left your house empty for 32 years, I would expect plaster to be coming off the walls too, and someone will have stolen your TV set.

On the pictures I see none of the churches being converted into anything else - though one seems to be being used as a storeroom. The thought that 70 will be turned into restaurants is stupid, like the posting a few months ago about Apostle Andreas Monastery being turned into a hotel. It just blows flames higher.
