How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

People will have to make their own judgement about why a wall was taken down and a new wall put up. It certainly wasn't done to make crossing any easier. The partitionist Papadopoulos could easily order the wall down, his soldiers gone, the Greek flag down and anything else that he feels contributes to bad feelings. He does none of these things, he only draws attention to them.

As to soldiers being on duty, I can't say that it really troubles me. Soldiers from both sides are often at the Metehan/Kermia crossing. As I have said elsewhere, I think that Talat is a fool for not removing the TC soldiers (who weren't there around Sunday lunchtime anyway). Equally, Papadopoulos is a fool for building a new wall.

This is one area where I can see nothing but a win-win situation for Nicosia traders.

Furthermore I have no objections on exchange of properties of equal value. On the other hand the TC properties left behind are not enough to even exchange 1/10th of the Gc properties in the occupied. Exchanging half-and half as you suggested would be even worse.
Why not each one keep what he has, and do whatever he likes with it? Chances are many GCs and TCs are going to .sell. Realities tell us that very few will return. So what's the problem?

Observer do you understand that Papadopoulos HAS NOT BUILDED a new wall? They just placed a draft net there, exactly the same your side placed, and exactly the same they place at construction sites to prevent some fool falling into a pithole?

Your side erected a bridge-blew down a bridge. Position square one.
Our side never builded a bridge, demolished a 100 ton anti-tank wall.

So the only side that aCTUALLY MOVED A STEP IS OUR SIDE.

Thats why he will never go back to the table or amend the AP as another rejection at referendum would finish any hope of unification, being the insinere side would you risk it?

Why the hell is it important why tpap brought down the wall? I don't care what the reasons were, all I care is that the TC side made a step back from what they have been declaring about the wall being the only obstacle. The wall is down so lets see if what you have been saying all this time is true. Any further words are useless! Actions please..

I am pretty confident that it will happen as some of these claims are a smoke screen to what is really going on, but doesnt being forced to do something by the EU tell you anything about your leadership?

You were saying that the crossings don't open because of RoC. Now RoC made the move and all you do is follow the official Tala line which is at least laughable

Let's get the facts straight. Papadopolous pulled down one wall and put another one there, with two armed soldiers and an enormous flagpole with a Greek flag on it.

He also took down the viewing platform so that tourists could not see that there is no wall on the TC side, the main point of the exercise I think

Pathetic reply!

The wall was brought down. Isn't this what you have been asking? The flag was there before anyway and don't pretent you have not seen it. The RoC and Greek flag is on every national guard outpost (even if I don't agree with the use of the greek flag). How pathetic ypur argument is...what about the turkish flag on your side?

As I said in my previous posts the RoC's proposal include the removal of all symbols from the area. Talat said no to this proposal, so stop complaining about anything and everything!

Talat can do nothing without the army's approaval. The incidence between Soyer and General Kivrikoglou the other day says it all.

Talat refuses to cooperate even if he wants to because he knows the army will twist his arm once again so he won't dare to face them.

The truth is plain and simple. Talat and the so called administration of trnc are puppets that cannot even move a brick without the approval of their masters! And you speak about "trnc" being an independent country.

Apologies if my post sounds a bit harsh to your ears but this is the plain truth and the realities in the north.

And as I have said before....you keep giving us the excuse we need with your accusations against the Turkish army, sooooooo, what is stopping TPap???

I saw a program once where they caught a fully grown tiger with a roll of silk cloth.....Perhaps TPap saw the same program
