Under intense pressure from the international community, Greek Cypriots have launched a campaign aimed at creating a positive image abroad and preventing the passage of Error! Hyperlink reference not valid.-promised direct-trade regulations in the north, said Turkish Cypriot Prime Minister Ferdi Sabit Soyer.
In an Error! Hyperlink reference not valid. with the Turkish Daily News yesterday, Soyer said that the Greek Cypriots, having been backed into a corner due to their non-reconciliatory stance toward the resumption of re-unification talks on the long-divided island, wanted to reverse their overwhelmingly negative image to a positive one.
In successive moves, the Greek Cypriots first tore down a concrete wall last Friday that symbolizes the decades-old Cyprus dispute and later started working for the opening of a border gate on the western part of the island.
“The real intention of the Greek Cypriots is to prevent any adoption of the EU-backed regulations for direct trade with northern Cyprus,” Soyer told the TDN. He said the Greek Cypriots decided to take action after realizing that the EU was sincere in its efforts to open up trade with northern Cyprus by June.
Greek Cyprus speaks out against direct trade, suggesting instead that all trade between the north and the rest of the EU go through Greek Cypriot ports in southern Cyprus under EU supervision.

And your point?

Will you open the bloody passages or what?

Oops...I forgot Talat said that he will not be opening Ledra cause the demand of the GC side for both armies to move back at least 200 meters is out of question. Oh, yes and the Pyrgos-Limnitis passage will not be openig since for Mr Talat it will only benefir GCs!!! What a loser and a puppet of Turkey!

The EU might end up shooting itself in the foot. If nobody guides and checks TC producers how can the EU know if the produce/goods is grown/manufactured and packaged in accordance with EU laws? Will the EU now start buying fruit and veggies grown with EU banned fertilizers for example? I fail to understand how it can work without RoC involvement and remain within EU guidelines.

Rubbish,

The official line is lets deal with Ledra before we move onto another opening which is another Tassos trick and being used to deflect to another issue thus relieving the pressure they are under from the EU masters to accept direct trade.

The question was would you open LEDRAS AND PYRGOS PASSAGES?

Moving troops back 200 metres as it was done with the other passages that opened souldn't be a problem for Mr "PRESIDENT" Tala wouldn't it. After all he claims to be the president od a country.

I don't see what difference it makes if Tpap was pressured or not to open the crossings. The fact is that the side refusing to open then now is the side that has been shouting that RoC refused to open the crossing. Let's now see mr Talat's balls...

We have seen Tpaps balls. He tears down the wall then promptly erects Greek flags and has his boys march up and down only feet from the wall in full battle gear.....Both the army and his nationalistic boys.

The flags was there before and stayed there. Let me remind you that Tpap proposed to remove all symbols and Talat said that this is another condition. So the ball is in your pitch now...lets both remove the symbols since you agree.

Btw you haven't answered to my original question again..
Will you open the Ledras and Pyrgos crossings? Will we see the famous Mr Talat's balls?
