Has anyone experienced this?

For the past few days I keep getting this weird feeling in my chest where I feel my heart beat really hard for that one beat, it doesn't hurt it just feels really weird. It only happens once a day if that but it's scaring me big time. When it happens I usually get a "winded" kind of feeling with it, it almost feels as if my heart pumps air up to my throat. I know it sounds strange but thats the only way I can describe it, does anyone know what it is and if it's serious?

It's not a heart attact I hope, I'm freaking out over here!

Yeah actually you could say it's a flutter. What causes the flutter? Is it serious? I just been looking on the internet and found an article on "heart palpitations". Sounds like what I been getting, is this the same thing you get?

Hi turkish_cypriot i know what you mean when you said it feels like a flutter,it kind of flutters and then you want to take a deep beath and it feels a bit tight,is this what you have???I have had this now and again but not been to the dox myself.Looking on the internet may scare you a bit as sometimes it gives you too much information and then you start looking into it.Theres me saying go see the dox as he may say its nothing, but ive not been myself how often do you get it for?if its every day or getting more regular go check it out.Take care and hope all is well

It's really difficult to describe jody. It does feel like a flutter although "palpitation" seems to be a more accurate description of the feeling.
It just feels as though I can really feel my heart beat for that single beat, feels as though my heart jumps out of place for a second and then returns back to normal straight away, but for that split second I feel kind of winded. It doesn't continue its just the once and then it goes away. It happens every other day I would say.
I've just read anxiety, caffine and nicotine can cause it and I drink a lot of coffee and smoke a lot plus I do suffer from anxiety as well so I'm hoping that it's nothing too serious, still, I will make an appointment with the doctor tomorrow. Thanks for you reply.

May I give you some good advice ?

Increase your magnesium intake.

Best would be to get yourself magnesiumpills or tablets which contain magnesiumcitrate (use Google) from a good brand like Essential Organics, Solgar or NOW. You need about 500 milligrams of magnesium a day. Magnesiumcitrate is the best, do not use magnesiumoxide or aspartate.

If you eat a lot of stuff which contains a lot of calcium (like cheese, milk) you need more magnesium. You'll always need half, like Calcium > 1000 mg a day, magnesium 500 mg a day.

Calcium contracts the heart muscle, magnesium relaxes it. Magnesia helps also against muscle cramps in your legs, and other spasms (like eye).

When I come to Cyprus, I have it with me in pure powder form, which is even better. I use it after exercising for a few hours. Together with creatine I can sport, fitness, and work out every day without cramps or pain.

Good Luck, TC.

Heart fluttering is called arrhythmia, my dad has had it for years, he takes tablets for it, he is over 90 years of age. You really should see a doctor to set your mind at rest.
