Is this how things really are in north Cyprus?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Agents of Hellenism must be found and punished. The paid agents are traitors. It is only the true patriots that can protect the Turkish Cypriots. A true Turkish Cypriot patriot understands the following concepts.

- We must cease all relations with the UN immediately.
- We must cease all relations with the EU immediately.
- We must expel all representatives of foreign entities immediately.
- We must close the crossing points immediately.
- We must appoint the commander of the army as President immediately.
- We must expel all agents of Hellenism immediately.
- We must make everyone understand that everyone who disagrees with us is a traitor and spy. They are paid agents of the Greeks.

We must protect ourselves from the Greeks by becoming dependant on grant aid from Turkey and forcing as many Turkish Cypriots to leave the island as quickly as possible!

One Turk he go and one Turk he come. The new Turks vote the true patriot parties!!

Pyrpolizer, I am not aturkish cypriot so my response will be nothing else that an empathic response from a greek speaking cypriot. Over the years and through a lot of soul searching and struglling as an immigrant in australia I have come to realise that I am just as much as an australian as someone who was born to this country. I have the character and abilility and greek cypriot stuborness to stand up for what I feel it is right for me. to this end my answer to the wquestion is yes I would move to the south, for the following reasons.

* as a cypriot cyprus is my country and if i can live where ever i wish then I would
* if my children could have a better way of life because they can access on that thr RoC can offer yes I would move
if I was a land owner or could be a landowner (via inheritance) in paphos or lemesos and not have to live in a refugee property then yes I would because I would be able to stand proud and free and say I have my own piece of land in my country and I am going to access that
* if i recognised that my finacial situation would be enhanced by living 70km south of this ficticious green line then yes I would, think about it Lemessos to Gyrne is probably less than an hour and half drive, i could visit family and friends on weekends in the meantime I have my own home on the land that was passed to me by my precedding generations
* if I didn;t want to be a minority in a so called country that does not exist yes I would move to the south, and lets not underestimate the psycho social impact that play part in human psyche knowing that the counrty that I choose to live in is not a country according to th international community. I think we have forgotten the imapct on emotional and psychological states of a human being in this whole cyprus thing.
* if i didn't want to be living under a military rule yes I would move to the south, especially if I was one of those people who go and work there anyway and access health care etc. Let us not allow this last point to go unnoticed, whey do peoplle work in the south? why do people acces health care in the RoC obviously because the standards are better, so why not experience that all the time.

Like I said earlier I do not know the circumastances in the north. my observation since i joint this forum have been that the north hasd not given turkish speaking cyporiots the utopia that was being sought, in 74 so it is up to the individual turkish sopeaking cypriots to answer that question to themselves and discuss it with their families, then make an informed decision as to what action they take. 32 years and nothing really has changed, it is up to people to sit around and wait for the hopeful recognistion of the "trnc" or begin to make changes for themselves and their families and future generations. all i can say is that in the past few moths that i have een a memebver here it does not look like the "trnc" is serving the needs of turkish speaking cypriots, but rather fullfills turkey's needs whatever they may.

Still feeling like shit and getting worse as the medicine is wearing off but thanks for asking.

On the other subject.........why don't you go and ask Admin. I am sure they would be glad to answer any questions. Leave it till the morning though because Admin is a frail old man and must be in bed by now. 8)

That just about sums it all up...
No matter how bad the situation is in North Cyprus, for us TC's anything is better than living under GC administration....we've been there before and have no intention of repeating same mistake again...
