What species of spiders are there in cyprus?

Feel free to talk about anything that you want.

What good do they do? People in Cyprus usually chop them in half when they come accross them...

Without them, we would be overrun by rats and mice. An average adult snake eats a couple of rats/week in the warmer month. It is a bad fact that the average Cypriot kills every snake they see. This is not only bad in that it increases the rodent population, it is also criminal and subject to important fines and/or imprisonment.

The 'One Eyed Bed Snake' is the most common in Cyprus, fortunately the ladies don't appear to be too afraid of it. !!
