The beaches are better on the Protaras side of the Island (rather than Paphos)
Protaras is good but it will get very crowded at the weekend.
Twenty years ago you could find secluded little bays but now sadly they all seem to get crowded or have been turned into building sites. Possibly some "locals" to the area know of some (secret) nice areas. |

If you only have a weekend the swim will be dictated by which town you are based in i.e. are you in the Paphos area or the Larnaca area?
If you are lucky, you would be in the Paphos area In which case there are lots (avoid Coral Bay). |

| Governors Beach, about 22km east of Limassol has some safe swimming. |

| Governors is nice, good lunches in the taverna. Ladies Mile takes some beating, plenty of space on the beach and the water is clean and genrally calm. |

Seconded; just watch out for Raymanoff on his water board! |
