Apart from Yfred, none of you have answered my queston. I can assure you I have not made this up (that doesn't mean it isn't made-up) - I was told it by someone who has lived in RoC since 1985 and lives across the road from TC land now being farmed. The farmer was told he may have to move out but will probably be able to rent it back from the TC owner who might have liked to sell it for development, but now won't be able to.

What you are now saying, above, that one farmer told some other person yackity yackity gossip ... is a far cry from the general opening statement which you initially made ....

I have recently heard that TC land in the RoC is being rezoned as "Zero". This means no planning permission will be granted on it - effectively, after reunification (as if), TCs will get much of their land back but it will be worthless to them or anyone else as no-one could (re)develope it.
Any truth in this?

Your lack of morals has been displayed, and your worries may well increase, but you should not have associated yourself with occupied land in the first place.....

Let this be a lesson to anyone else who still thinks there is some get-out-clause and they can purchase in the occupied territory ... Here is a man (or mouse), clearly on the brink of despair, at what he has done!

What I heard is that they will make it easier for TCs to sell their properties in the free areas.

Couldn't this mean that the area in which that one particular piece of land is located has, for some reason, been rezoned? This is not necessarily evidence that all TC-owned land has been rezoned, which would be very impractical because in previously mixed areas there is often a patchwork of GC and TC owned land so that there are not any discrete zones of TC land.

I hope its not my land the've re-zoned or there will be a new war.
I give my GC friends a fair warning(excl. GR and Oracle, they are not friends)

Vaughan, I seem to remember that this was done some time ago to stop GCs building on TC land, not that it stopped them. I don't think that it’s a new law. After the agreement, presumably it will be repealed.
Change may be coming

Afrika newspaper reports that "according to news that has leaked out from reliable Greek Cypriot sources", there are plans to revise legislation concerning sales by their legitimate owner of TC-owned property in the south, so that all TCs regardless of where they live and whether they have emigrated or not will be permitted to sell their property.

My word.
How accurate was my post, Tim?
I can read their minds.

If this news is true, the change is going to be introduced regardless of whether there is an agreement or not.

I would have thought that the RoC would encourage ( TC selling their land to GCs) that years ago. Why now?

About this thread, I think someone has got the wrong end of the stick.
